Is Twitter still doing SMS alerts (free) for NSW, Australia?
Is Twitter charging for SMS alerts to NSW, Australia? I'm confused as to whether they are charging there or not...
I know they mentioned other countries were being cut out, but I want to know if SMS alerts are available for free in the Newcastle, NSW Australia area. I don't want to turn it on and find out there are a bunch of charges later on.

Inappropriate?You can turn it on safely. But they won't arrive, because SMS alerts don't work in Australia.

Inappropriate?Hello. Now that Twitter is no longer sending tweets for free to countries outside of US, Canada, and India, a number of are third-party, paid sms alternatives have sprung up. One of them (3jam) even provides a local number for sending updates to Twitter from Australian mobile phones.
