I am VERY frustrated! -
Inappropriate?Am having the same issue and getting no where with the tech support. The link they sent me to reset just took me back to the base login page, ( double checked it to be sure it wasn't malformed. ), and now if I request a reset all I get is a near instantaneous reply that my ticket has been resolved.
PLEASE some one tell me that this isn't par for their response?
I’m frustrated

Yes....no tech support. -
Inappropriate?Hi Julianne and David -
Myself and many others have recently posted the EXACT same problem and it is all around the same timing - April 22nd. I have written Twitter support which appears to be automated more than 50x with the details below. Looking for support from a real person not an automated response, hoping @crystal sees this as she is the Twitter guru from what I can see on the web.
@foxadam
-------------------------------------
On April 22nd around 8:15am EST I signed up as @foxadam. The first problem I had was that I could not upload my photo which apparently is an ongoing issue. I tried several versions from JPG to PNG, to GIF and with sizes ranging from 80k - 700 kb which they tell you is the range to upload on the support page. I kept getting the "Nice picture" and then "The file was too big".
At around 10:30pm on April 22nd, I posted a complaint and looked for support on one of the support strings about the photo upload issue, and while in the middle of writing to support, I clicked on my "home" and then "profile" tab, and noticed that I was in someone elses account who was named "Adam Fox" like myself. All of my followers, and those I was following had been removed. Instead, there were tweets and posts from "Adam Fox" to only one follower, named @brettlarson and the two had had communication back and forth. Then all of a sudden, I was locked out of my account, and I kept getting the error message that my password and username didn't match. I followed the procedure to reset my password, but it kept re-sending me the password instructions. I wrote to support about all of the issues, up until about 11:30pm EST and then went to bed. I wrote to restore@twitter.com and support@twitter.com both of which immediately wrote that my problem was resolved, and to see or update I could log in, but I still can't log in.
The next day on April 23rd at 6:15am EST on April 23rd, I could in fact get into my profile, but it was still without my followers, and still only had
@brettlarson, who is someone I don't even know. It appears as though they mixed up my profile and someone else was using my @foxadam username. I wrote several more support requests, but no response. To be proactive, I deleted @brettlarson, and deleted my account with the intention of restoring my @foxadam profile to normal. Now when I put in my email or my user name @foxadam I am sent an e-mail to restore. When I wrote to
restore@twitter.com I received a response which immediately wrote that
my problem was resolved, and to see or update I could log in, but I
still can't log in.
I assumed my account might have been suspended as I tried to log in
about a dozen times last night with no success so I wrote to
suspended@twitter.com today and received a note that my problem was
resolved, and to see or update I could log in, but I still can't log in.
Considering I had only been on twitter a couple of days, and after about 50+ emails with no response, and several hours of frustration, and problems, I sent a simple request to Twitter support to please permanently delete @foxadam and let me know, so I can start over from scratch.
In response, I get the automated e-mail telling me about how to delete, how to change my password, etc . . . The annoying thing is that I can't log into my account. When I try to restore, I am in the loop as mentioned, and when I get to try to log in after restore, I get a "page does not exist". I can't start over with a new account because it says my e-mail is already in use. My friends / followers that I met on April 22nd see my profile, but says "page does not exist". I asked twitter support to manually delete my e-mail and user name, so I could sign up and get a bunch of automated responses with no luck.
I too am looking for support from @crystal or one of the techs at Twitter to see how I can resolve this mess but apparently no one has been able to help after my 50+ e-mails.
Very frustrating, thankfully facebook has a solid, real-time, support team to avoid such issues, but I want to clear up the Twitter mess as we were trying to launch an online social community for work, and I work with one of the largest tier-one north american consumer packaged goods firms in marketing.
Please advise,
@foxadam

I’m Angry at Twitter's lack of care and support!

Inappropriate? This is awful! I too am having this problem and don't know if or when I will be "allowed" back in. Just because I typed the wrong password a few times.
But this does prove one thing...Twitter is not a reliable business tool. I mean, what if I have a customer whose business depends on real time tweets? And this happens to them? If there is no support and no way to send an SOS to someone, then, no sensible business person is going to rely on it.
In fact, I am going to take this off the menu of apps I will support for my customers (whose websites I maintain.) Maybe somewhere down the road Twitter will grow up and have real support. -
Inappropriate?Hi - can't believe you haven't had a response yet! Amazing!! OK - it's happening to me too because I put my password in wrong. It's been over 10 days but I still can't log in to my account. However, if you click "Support" on the bottom of the page where you get the annoying message telling you to "chillax" (is that English?), you can log in to Twitter Support with your usual account details. Then when you click on the Back to Twitter icon, magically you're logged in to your Twitter account.
Doesn't solve the problem, but it is a way around it.
I’m disappointed

Inappropriate?Twitter is THE WORST maintained social networking site on the web. They absolutely have no real customer service, so if you have a real problem (e.g., login issues), you are out of luck. I totally agree with Maria's comment (requoted below):
"But this does prove one thing...Twitter is not a reliable business tool. I mean, what if I have a customer whose business depends on real time tweets? And this happens to them? If there is no support and no way to send an SOS to someone, then, no sensible business person is going to rely on it."
I can't believe I've seen so many otherwise sensible business people using Twitter as part of their marketing and business communication. I have no respect any longer for them as business people, because it only took me a few days on Twitter to realize that it (1) is poorly maintained, (2) uses too much "insider" gobbledygook language to be user friendly, (3) is totally overloaded/bandwidth limited, so you get things like login problems and inability to upload photos, and (4) has no real support, so it is probably making money hand over fist by dishing off support to an informal group of users.
I never thought I would say this about any business, but TWITTER IS WORSE THAN MICROSOFT!!!! There, I said it and that felt really good. :)
This poor customer service WILL catch up with Twitter. Even my twenty-something nephew, who is highly net-savvy, rarely uses Twitter because he "hates it." I've seen too many people with this same issue. I'm canceling my Twitter account today.
Power to the people against the San Francisco web-thiefs at Twitter!!! :)
Facebook, please make a competitor to Twitter and kick their a__ out of Web 2.0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Twitter is awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Long live Facebook and Myspace!!!!!!!
I’m pissed off big time

OK, but cancelling your account doesn't solve the problem! I have no problem with this kind of open source software where developers are constantly working on solving problems. No doubt, there'll be updates soon.
