Lost in Translation! Need help setting up South Korean Twitting!
I can't seem to get my cell phone working. I'm stationed in South Korea (Korea, Republic of) and I have my 8 digit phone number, plus a local area code, so I dial 010-####-#### to access my phone from local phones. However, I can't seem to get twitter to work with it.
I was told "82 10 #### ####" should work to call from the states, but I'm not so certain about texting. So, I put in "+8210 #### ####" but I'm not getting any texts. Any help available? I'm stationed at Camp Humphreys, which is near Pyeongtaek and Osan. Also, to text the USA, I have to put 002 - 1 - are code - numer. Do i need the 002, or is that what the 44 is for?

Inappropriate?According to these dialing instructions:
82 is the South Korea country code
010 is one of the cellphone codes used in Korea.
And if you're calling from overseas, you drop the leading 0 in the cellphone code.
Therefore, to send an sms to a South Korean mobile number from overseas, you would need to send the sms to +8210 #### ####
And that's the number that you need to enter in your Twitter Devices page (http://twitter.com/devices) for Twitter to verify your phone.
Note: all this assumes that the dialing instructions in the link above are correct. 8-)

Inappropriate?YAY, I found a way for Twitter to work from my SKT phone.
+8210 #### #### is the correct way to enter your own phone number (they won't allow you to send tweets to your phone, but you can send them from your phone after you register your number).
For SKT customers, the number to use to send tweets from your cell phone needs to be preceded by 00700 So add that number to the number Twitter gives you (starts with 44) and tweets should arrive within 30 seconds to your Twitter feed.
This appears to be the way you would send regular text messages to users in the United States as well, use 00700-1 and the 10 digit US phone number.
I’m pleased to have figured out the problem.

M Park, That's great, but how did you get your phone registered? I'm in Seoul & I've got myself registered on the web, but I can't figure out how to register my cell phone. (Note: We currently don't support sending SMS notifications to this number. You may still verify your phone and update Twitter, but we won't deliver to your phone. Verify your number +82116607826 by sending the following code to +447624801423.) Maybe because I'm not putting a "+" in front of the 447...? I can't figure out how to do that. Any advice. TIA. -
I can't figure out how to do the + sign either. I get the same message as Appasaurus. I've got an LG PPS account, and I want to be able to use it! -
