MAJOR Twitter Glitch
I've stopped following someone but am still getting his tweets in my cell phone's Inbox. Blocking him isn't working, either. This is really annoying, since the person in question frequently has twitterhea. This person is killing my battery and my patience with Twitter. Can this problem get fixed?

Inappropriate?Hi there. You can text OFF to Twitter (40404) from your phone to stop all updates coming in while we try to figure out why you're having trouble un-following this one particular person. Or you could try OFF USERNAME first and see if that works.

Inappropriate?I have sent off username. I have BLOCKED this person, and their texts still spam my phone's inbox. I have reset my phone number. I have tried everything.PLEASE STOP markdavidson from spamming my phone. I shouldn't have to miss tweets from everyone because of one idiot, but that's what I've had to do for several hours at a time.

Inappropriate? When markdavidson's messages arrive on your phone, is his name by any chance in parenthesis? Like this:
(markdavidson): Alright, browser is going off now. Back to editing, fo' real.
If yes, then it appears that you're getting his tweets because they match a keyword that you've set up as a Twitter alert.
For example, if you had tracked the word 'browser', you would have received a copy of the message above because the text had the word 'browser' in it.
Twitter uses the parenthesis around the user name to let you know that you're receiving a track alert.
Currently, Twitter alerts are still sent to you even from people you have blocked (which is why I was thinking that alerts may be the cause of your problem).
Anyway, you can get a list of all the keywords that you currently are tracking by sending 'track' to Twitter via sms. You can also send 'untrack all' via sms to stop all track alerts at any time.
If you wish to stop tracking a specific keyword, then send 'untrack keyword' -- for example, 'untrack browser' to stop tracking the word browser.
I’m hoping your problem will be solved

Inappropriate?Good thought, but no, I'm not tracking him. I've also tried resetting my phone number, but that didn't work either. This problem actually started a few days after the Superbowl and it's a Twitter problem, not user error.

Inappropriate?Okay folks, I'm done with Twitter. I'm still getting markdavidson's spam to my phone, I have no indication that anyone is actually working on the problem, and turning Twitter off so often for so long not only renders the service nearly useless for me, but made me realize that A) I don't need it, and B) I can save myself some money by dropping the unlimited text and pic messaging feature from my phone plan -- a feature I got solely for Twitter.
Bye.
I’m done.

Inappropriate?Someone else apparently had the same problem.
The suggested solution was to explicitly re-follow the person, then unfollow them again... I guess it's the equivalent of 'rebooting' the follow relationship -
Inappropriate?I swear this isn't another one of my publicity stunts. This really did happen. However, I'm convinced that it is user error and I tried to offer him tech support. @Semidi was one of my favorite posters and I can understand his frustration. I'm sorry to see him leave Twitter.

Inappropriate? Why not just simply use one of the many computer or web-based applications instead of quitting Twitter altogether?
Sounds like you're giving up and letting the spammer win IMO...
Just a thought...
Cheers :)
