Mobile-only followers dont receive updates via SMS
I'm organizing event and I just have some users following it by SMS - they text "follow user" to +4476.... but no one has received any updates I have sent. Only users who have real twitter account and have turned-on device updates on twitter.com received them.
I have twitter account and tried following EventUser by sending sms "follow EventUser" to twitter (+4476...), I also didn't receive update. Then I noticed on the web interface that I am following the user but that my device notifications are off. Maybe that's happening to Mobile users... do they really must send another sms message to turn it on or should "follow EventUser" be enough?
Update: after mobile-only users sends "on EventUser" he starts getting updates. I hope this is bug that will get fixed.

Inappropriate?Twitter should automatically enable device updates for mobile-only users.
SMS updates are the only way users who are only signed up via mobile recieve their tweets. Most don't know they have to send "on username" to enable them to recieve the tweets.1 Comment

The keyword is "should" but it doesn't atleast it hasn't last time I checked. After several emails explaining this problem to Twitter they stopped responding. I gave up and never used twitter for my event updates bacause it doesn't work for mobile-only followers and nobody wants to fix it. -
Inappropriate?I have checked every "on" button that I could find, and texted "on username" to every username on my list and I still have yet to receive a single update on my cell phone. I sent a request for help... I was told that they get back to you in around 4 days... It's been 16, with no reply and no change.
I’m grumpy.
