not getting sms updates even though its set to mobile
I'm only following one person and I set up the mobile device, had it verified and everything and out of 4 of his total updates, only one has been sent to me via SMS. I'm really frustrated. Helppp!

Inappropriate?I have a similar problem. I verified my phone and I can send to the 40404 short code and it will update my status on Twitter, but I am not getting any texts back from Twitter. I have "Device Updates set to On in my settings, and I have it set to On for the people I want to follow, but I have yet to 40404 send me anything. I am using Sprint.
I’m angry

Hi Nick. There's apparently an ongoing issue affecting Sprint customers. Please click this link for more info. -
Inappropriate?I can't even get mine to verify. I'm using iWireless a T-mobile affiliate.

Hi RoseWolf. Please check this link, which is where T-mobile customers have been posting their sms-related issues. It may help to answer the set of questions that Twitter asks to help them troubleshoot. -
Bell (Canada) or Bell (USA)? -
Hi Mélanie. Are you by any chance on Bell Mobility in Canada using 21212?
If yes, it might help to post a description of your issue at this other thread -- where another Bell Mobility user also reported a similar issue. See http://gsfn.us/t/npm -
Inappropriate? Are you all in the USA?
Some of the above-named carriers operate in more than one country - and SMS text issues can have very different solutions according to country and carrier.
In general it'd be useful to know
• Your country
• Your mobile carrier
• The Twitter number (40404, 21212, +44...) you use for SMS text
• Your Twitter username
• If you've always had this problem, or when it started.
Then someone here can usually direct you to the most appropriate thread for your particular combination. -
Inappropriate?I get a response when I text 'on' to 40404, but have never got an sms update form the person I follow, though updates are on the twitter site. Att, USA.

rickabillie, I've checked your account. It turns out that device updates were off for the person you were following. I've turned it on now. If you still don't receive sms when the person you follow updates their account, please let me know.
Also, you can turn device updates on or off anytime for anyone you follow by going to http://twitter.com/friends -
Inappropriate?I'm having the same problem. My mobile is set up to receive, and I am following two people, but I get nothing on mobile.
I’m confused

Have you set Device Updates ON for each individual person you follow, from whom you also wish to receive SMS text messages? The default is OFF for each individual. -
Yes, everything is on and I'm using the US number (40404). Evidently this has something to do with Sprint. -
Ah, Sprint!
If you haven't yet done so, I recommend you join (many) other Sprint Twitter users in the thread Sprint customers in the US not receiving sms from 40404 (Nov 2008) and add the (extensive) information Twitter request, in a new post at the end of that thread.
Emee from Twitter is working heroically to resolve it, but it appears that the Sprint / Twitter issue is a really difficult one:I really wish I could give everyone better news. Unfortunately, we can only work through a solution with our sms provider because the problem is not occurring on our side of the sms delivery chain.

It'd be useful to know
• Your country and mobile carrier - USA/T-Mobile
• The Twitter number (40404, 21212, +44...) you use for SMS text - 40404
• Your Twitter username - ChrisDominguez
• If you've always had this problem, or when it started. - started to notice on Monday, December 8th.

Your mobile update ("...from txt") reached your account late on 9 Dec., which rules out certain potential problems.
I recommend you visit the link for non-Verizon and non-Canada users with SMS problems (please click), and then go to the very end of that thread to post the (extensive) information which Twitter requests. -
Chris:
Sorry: I've just realised I should have pointed you directly to the (newer) link for USA / T-Mobile users with SMS problems (please click), and post your infos there.
