OpenMicroBlogging spec
Would Twitter be willing to contribute to the OpenMicroBlogging specification to make this thing bigger than just one service?

Inappropriate?I really hope folks at Twitter work with us to make microblogging an open Web protocol.

Inappropriate?I hope so - Twitter joining the openmicroblogging network would be a dream come true.

Inappropriate?I think twitter is like skype :-(
too many users and too little openness
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Twitter people have exhibited zero interest in opening their silo. While this would be really nice, I don't imagine that I'll be holding my breath waiting for it.
I’m cynical

Inappropriate? The world is marching on without Twitter. TodaysMama http://is.gd/pkc1 has joined the ranks of identi.ca, twitarmy, and hundreds of other Open MicroBlog Standard microblogging platforms that are distributed and easily interact with each other. Having their own microblogging server is the only solution that allows government to embrace microblogging under current laws. The time has come twitter.... Open the silo.
I’m tired of the stonewalling

Inappropriate?Still no support for open microblogging? With all these constant problems like user avatars vanishing, tweets being delayed by hours at a time, and more, why doesn't twitter just open up and support it?!
I've been using identi.ca for almost a year, and its better than twitter. I say better because it hasn't broken yet. And if it did start to break, I'd just open up my own laconica server to make sure I wouldn't have any of those problems.
Twitter however, is being a stubborn stick in the mud. I remember when they were a cool startup with great ideas. Now its all about money, isn't it? The only reason I've got a twitter account still is because of the people on twitter who haven't moved out yet.
I’m not a happy camper.
