How do I put a link in my tweet longer than 140 characters? Even though it shortens it after being posted, it won't allow longer links to be listed.

Inappropriate?I was tweeting and other people somehow just put [...] and it becomes a link and when you click on it, it shows more of a message, but I have tried it and it never works! Someone please answer our question!!!!!!!
