I have this problem, too! Tell me when someone solves it.
The more people who report this problem, the more it gets noticed.

Remove Inappropriate?
Delete or Edit for 15 minutes

Hi Lee. I suggest you log a support ticket at Twitter's Help desk: http://twitter.zendesk.com/requests/p... -- that way someone from Twitter Support can check your account.
