Restore process has me in an infinite loop. I want to restore a freshly (3 days) deleted account.
Why can't I restore my Twitter account after receiving 3 "Restore" emails from Twitter over the last few days? Whenever I click on the link in the Restore email, I am taken to http://www.twitter.com/home. Upon logging in, I get taken to the "Your account is being deleted" page with the option to "Reconsider" by submitting my username or email addy. It's an infinite loop. ARGH! Please help.

I get the email, I click on the link, it takes me to a screen telling me that Twitter is reassembling my account and will send me another email in "a few minutes," and I never get the email, nor will Twitter let me log in. I tried reporting this at the bug-report page, but that merely resulted in me being sent a _third_ iteration of the "click here" email. Could a human being please look at this? The account name is "pnh".

Started out as a problem of registering my mobile number with a new account (though the old account was deleted the mobile number was still in in their system) and having read the instruction here to restore the old account and delete the mobile number entry.. Tried restoring, got all the way to the point of received three separate emails all having different temporary passwords -- but using any of them just redirected me to the "deleted!"-page.
I've sent couple of emails to support@twitter.com but no reply so far (or even any kind of acknowledgment like "thank you for your email, we'll get back to you..").
Here are the details:
old account: igu077
new account: igufi
As said, I don't really need the old account for any other purpose than to delete the gsm-number so that I could use it with my new account.
ps. I tried filing a twitter help ticket but never received any "key" via email to follow the progress the ticket (or if was even ever received!).

I only received the first e-mail, that gives you a link to click. After I click I get to a page that says:
Deleted!
Your account is being removed. It may still be viewable on twitter.com for up to 24 hours.
You will be able to restore your account for up to six months.
So, after one day I'm still waiting for the restore confirmation.

Inappropriate?Yes. Twitter finally managed to reactivate my old "pnh" account, and gave me a new, working password. This allowed me to: (1) log in to it, (2) change the email address to one I don't usually use, this freeing up my primary email address, (3) change the login on the account to "pnh-disabled," (4) kill the account, and (5) change my latter-day functional "pnielsenhayden" account to "pnh" (since "pnh" was now no longer in use) and change the email address on it to my primary address.
This is exactly what I wanted to have happen, and I'm glad it finally proved possible.

It then said it would take a bit of time to restore my account and that they would send me another email when it was ready. 18 hours or so later, there is still no email. I just messaged customer support so I'm hoping that will help speed things along.

I see a page saying that instructions have been sent to me, but no email appeared (after 5 minutes or so). Yesterday when I tried, I received the email and clicked the link it contained, but didn't receive a reset password (I can't remember exactly what happened).

Inappropriate?For those of you getting the "Something is technically wrong" error page after logging in with your temporary password, I figured out how to get past it. Once you log in, delete ONLY the "lang" cookie (if you delete the session cookie, you'll be logged out again). Then go to http://twitter.com/account/settings, make sure the correct language is selected, and click Save. This appears to fix whatever was wrong with the "lang" cookie. You should be good to go now.
I’m hoping Twitter fixes this for everyone else.

this is right- we have a language setting bug that causes this to happen. you may also see the word NULL in your sidebar instead of your usual stats. -

Inappropriate?Hi littlegirl. Your best bet is to send an email to support AT twitter DOT com.
In that email (not here since this is a public forum), please describe the restore problem that you're having and include your username and the email address you used to sign-up.
Within minutes of sending that email, you should receive an automatically generated email to confirm that your support request has been received. There will be a ticket number in that email and a link to the ticket itself so you can view it and add info to it.

I have the exact same problem above where I can no longer log in, restore, or have access to my account, yet Twitter Support apparently keeps "solving" the issues and reporting them as closed. The most frustrating part is that they mention to "log into" the account to update the support request, but when you can't log in that appears to be a problem
I have sent more than 50 e-mails to support@twitter.com, restore@twitter.com, and suspended@twitter.com to see if they would respond but I still can't log in. Even more frustrating, I asked them to delete my account, so I could free up my e-mail to start from scratch as I was only on the service for one day, but no such luck.
Here is my story, hoping for some Twitter support.
On April 22nd around 8:15am EST I decided to open up a twitter account under the name @foxadam as I am work in Marketing in Toronto for one of the world's top Tier-One Marketing CPG companies, and wanted to better connect the team through social networking.
The first problem I had with Twitter was that I could not upload my photo which apparently is an ongoing issue. I tried several versions from JPG to PNG, to GIF and with sizes ranging from 80k - 700 kb which they tell you is the range to upload on the support page. I kept getting the "Nice picture" and then "The file was too big".
At around 10:30pm on April 22nd, I posted a complaint and looked for support on one of the support strings, and while in the middle of writing to support, I clicked on my "home" and then "profile" tab, and noticed my followers, and those I was following had been removed. Instead, it appeared that I was in someone else's profile that was following only one person named @brettlarson and the two had had communication back and forth. Then all of a sudden, I was locked out of my account, and I kept getting the error message that my password and username didn't match. I followed the procedure to reset my password, but it kept re-sending me the password instructions. I wrote to support about all of the issues, up until about 11:30pm EST and then went to bed. I wrote to restore@twitter.com and support@twitter.com both of which immediately wrote that my problem was resolved, and to see or update I could log in, but I still can't log in.
Upon awakening this morning at 6:15am EST on April 23rd, I could in fact get into my profile, but it was still without my followers, and only had
@brettlarson, who is someone I don't even know. I wrote several more
support requests, but no response. To be proactive, I deleted
@brettlarson, and deleted my account with the intention of restoring my
@foxadam profile to normal. Now when I put in adamfox@gmail.com or
@foxadam I am sent an e-mail to restore. When I wrote to
restore@twitter.com I received a response which immediately wrote that
my problem was resolved, and to see or update I could log in, but I
still can't log in.
I then clicked on the link and it asks me again to put in my username
and e-mail, and the process goes on in the circle loop as mentioned above.
I assumed my account might have been suspended as I tried to log in
about a dozen times last night with no success so I wrote to
suspended@twitter.com today and received a note that my problem was
resolved, and to see or update I could log in, but I still can't log in.
I only signed up for Twitter less than 3 days ago, and have had about
a dozen issues, written more than 50+ communications, and still can not
log into my account. When my friends try to follow me they say that the
page is blank and says "does not exist". When I tried to reset my
password, I keep being told that my problem has been resolved, but I
still can't log in. When I checked about my account being suspended it
said the problem has been resolved, but my information seems to be lost.
When I questioned about my profile being duplicated, I didn't receive a
response. When I go to restore my profile, and follow the e-mail link, I get a picture of a bird saying "page does not exist"
After several hours of frustration, and problems, After several messages, I sent a simple request. to Twitter support to please permanently delete @foxadam and let me know, so I can start over from scratch, apologizing for the plethora of communication, and re-instating that I was only trying to get registered to build a work social network to unite our marketing team at work , and that I had a ton of issues with my account @foxadam since
yesterday including:
- Ability to load pictures
- Loss of following / follower connections
- Account deletion
- Password lock out
- The list goes on.
Can you please permanently delete @foxadam and let me know, so I can
start over from scratch with the @foxadam username associated with
adamfox@gmail.com
I am looking for support, hopefully from @crystal or one of the techs at Twitter to see how I can resolve this mess.
