Using Twitter with my Sprint Phone-error 2115
Im trying to set up my phone with twitter. I send the code they give me to 40404 but i keep getting a text back saying "error 2115-NO configured Text" I don't know how to get it to work or what that means. I have a sprint phone with a texting plan.

As noted by Crystal above and by a blogpost on the Twitter Status Blog, our sms provider fixed the issue that was causing "error 2115" for Twitter users on Sprint several hours ago.
If you are still experiencing sms problems with your Sprint phone, please let us know so we can investigate.

I recommend you add the following information here:
• Your country
• Your mobile provider
• The Twitter number (40404, 21212, +44...) you use for SMS text to Twitter.
• Your Twitter username
• When the problem started
• Has Twitter SMS worked for you until now, or has it never yet worked?
• Any other relevant information.
Don't post any private information on this public Get Satisfaction site, however.
If (as I suspect) this is a new problem affecting many users, someone who works at Twitter is likely to join in once a significant number of users have posted here, and the information you post should help them track down the problem.
The thread SMS not getting through might be relevant, though that was/is a rather different problem. If you post there too, indicate that you're getting the Error 2115 message.
EDIT: In that other thread, I've now posted a link back to the question in this thread, just in case.

Inappropriate?I did a quick Google Search and found another site where a Sprint customer reports encountering "Error 2115 no configured text" when trying to send sms to a different shortcode (link here)
That makes me suspect it's an issue with Sprint rather than an issue with Twitter.
It might help to contact Sprint technical support to ask them if they've blocked shortcodes in general or 40404 in particular for your respective accounts. You'll find info on how to contact Sprint at this link -

The error's been happening since about 2 am EST, things were peachy for me before then.
UPDATE: They said there's no problems on their end so it must be with Twitter. -

FWIW: Some Sprint users say they have received far more competent support from Sprint Chat than they ever did from Sprint's telephone hotline.
Perhaps Sprint Chat allows Sprint's technical support more time to think, to search for information, and to ask colleagues for their ideas. -
I don't know that it is a Sprint problem; for me, all other texts (to people and to other short codes) are working. If it IS a Sprint problem, Sprint is only picking on Twitter... -
Yes, Sprint customers in the US should go straight to that link!
Customers of other carriers who receive Error 2115 should click SMS not getting through (the link I mentioned earlier). -

FYI, this is the response I got from Sprint...they seem to think it's a problem with Twitter.

The messages to the short code 40404 will be sent to stop or unsubscribe
from the text messaging alert service by Odeo for Twtr. The error code
2115 appears due to following 2 reasons:
1. The customer you are trying to text is temporarily out of service.
2. The recipient you are sending to has chosen not to receive messages.
The short code 40404 is not blocked from our end. However if you wish
to unsubscribe the services by Odeo from the account, please reply to
this email and we will be happy to process your request.
Please reply to this email if you have any further concern. We are here
for you. Have a great day!

At least we now know what Error 2115 means - even if Sprint don't appear to understand the question.
So the problem must lie somewhere between Sprint and Twitter... -
we're looking at this today. it's odd that Sprint would say "services by Odeo" since Twitter never was a service of Odeo. Odeo and Twitter were both services of Obvious, and Twitter broke off into its own thing. -
Inappropriate?In a chat session with Sprint Chat now - she had the bright idea of me including 40404 in the body of the message...i didn't that that would matter but I did it to humor her...yep still getting Error 2115! Waiting still as she searches their short code database...

Inappropriate?This just started for me sometime last night or in the middle of the night. I have been getting "tweets" via text ever since I signed up for Twitter. Yes, I too am in the US and have Sprint. I chatted online with a Sprint rep and they have been receiving complaints and it seems to be with the short code, so she said. They are checking into and gave me the link to this information. I hope it comes back up...I'm missing my tweets! I hate logging on via the web - that's too much work!

"I apologize for the inconvenience there is an outage effecting the use of that service. The issue is being worked on and there is no time frame as to when service will return to normal."
According to the agent, "this applies to short codes, and some other services."

Inappropriate?Thanks for your information guys, we're looking into it today. As you know, we've had a multitude of problems with SMS delivery over multiple carriers. This seems to be new behavior rather than instances of an old bug, so we're investigating further this afternoon.

Our SMS provider is making changes to how they deal with Sprint SMS traffic. This was not meant to cause a service interruption, but unfortunately it has. We've updated the status blog here:

deardooley, it might be a good idea to contact Sprint customer support to ask them if shortcodes in general and 40404 in particular are blocked for your account.
Since you're not able to verify your phone, it's possible that blocked shortcodes are the problem.
