I can't sign in because they say 'wrong combination of user name and password'. I am using what I selected at sign up, so I don't understand the problem. Please help!

Inappropriate?Have you tried resetting your password?
To reset your password, simply go to http://twitter.com/account/resend_pas... and enter in your username (or email - it doesn't matter).

If you can't log in then you can't reset your password! -
That's not true. If you visit that page when not logged in, enter in your username or email address, and you'll get emailed a reset password link. -
Getting a new password and resetting your password are two different things.
And this whole thread is about people not being able to log on
and getting this message:

That's what we all are getting when we try to log into Twitter! -

That wasn't the avatar I was given. Someone added a cupcake next to my name but it wasn't me and I've since changed my avatar...
Apparently, Twitter didn't send me the e-mail needed to verify my e-mail addy.
I finally got it at 2 PM today. Thanks for replying. Problem solved...so far. -
The cupcake is the default avatar for Get Satisfaction, the help tool we're using right now. The above avatar is the default avatar for the actual Twitter service. Sorry for the confusion! -
Why am I being bounced to Get Satisfaction when I originally signed up for Twitter?

Get Satisfaction is where Twitter handles user-powered support. If you're looking for employee support, see http://twitter.com/help. It's important to note that user-support is generally a lot quicker than employee support, but employee support can handle support that deals with a specific account (or a bug). -
I am not an employee. I signed up at Twitter to get politiical candidate updates from a specific candidate that has an account on Twitter and now, somehow I find myself on Get Satisfaction but trust me... I'm not satisfied at all ! -
To get to Twitter, go to Twitter.com. To follow that candidate, visit twitter.com/theirname (such as http://twitter.com/BarackObama). Sorry for the confusion! -

No, I do not work for either of them. As I've mentioned before, this is USER-POWERED SUPPORT. I'm doing this for free, in my spare time. If you don't want any help, then be that way. -
Inappropriate?And I've not been able to login for 12days since I started. None of the emails I attempt to send for Twitter "help" get through and nothing comes back from them either. And from what I've gathered it looks like there are a handful of others having the same issue: "wrong username/email & password combo" error message.

Try asking for another verification e-mail to verify your e-mail address.
I finally got one this afternoon. That took longer to get then any other messageboard I've joined. Usually it's instantaneous. Maybe you have that e-mail in your Spam Folder? Have you checked? -

How did you ask for another email verification? Sorry if this seems like an asinine question... I can't post anything to the Twitter.com/help since it won't take my email/info, etc.-- same existing problem so it's difficult to get help from them since I can't login to post the problem.
What am missing here?

If Twitter's support form isn't working for you, you can email support AT twitter DOT com directly (that sets up a support ticket). -

Thanks for your help. I've tried what you suggested Jason (even previously prior to this post) to reset/send password and Twitter prompts a message that the password has been emailed but nothing is in my email and/or spam file... it's the same thing each time I do this-- nothing.
Still stumped here... so bear with me and hopefully we'll get it figured out.

Inappropriate?I'm having a similar problem. I sign in, and then nothing happens. It just kicks me to my own page, but I'm not logged in. I've tried a thousand times and it still won't work. It's been like this since this morning. What do I do?! I can't even log in down here at the bottom to post this!

Hi, apologies for the delay. Can you give me the user name you signed up with, or the support request number (digits only, no letter please.) -
Inappropriate?Hi there, I've done some more digging around, and it looks like you have written several requests, all of which have been replied to by our Support team. I noticed that you have an SBC address and need to caution you: SBC does not always deliver Twitter mail, as it is not a safe sender of mail in the eyes of SBC.
I have sent you a password from Support as well as from my personal non-Twitter gmail account with a new password that should allow you to get in-- I tried it successfully.
To avoid this in the future, I would recommend contacting SBC and requesting that they white list mail from twitter.com. If you are still unable to log in for any reason, let me know- you have my email address so hopefully we can avoid communications snafus :)
