I had recently posted that there were sms delivery delays with Verizon users, but as i have found within testing with other services using the sms updates on twitter, it is not only Verizon.YES it is true that there are sms delays on Verizon but, Verizon is not the only service having this issue.

I ran some tests for the response time of a usual tweet when a user sends the command "get usernamehere" and I have found out that the usual response time is anywhere from 30 secs. - 1 min. depending on the signal strength of your service.

I tried this with my Verizon phone and recieved my results up to about 10 mins. after I sent it this morning the time was cut, but i still recieved 1 - 2 mins of delay time.

I tried this same test with my friend's phone whom is using Cingular and he recieved his response from twitter within the same time as I.

as well as those two phones, I also tried it on all of my family and friends phones whom are using Verizon. Yes most of the services using sms right now are lagging, just Verizon has it the worst

to retort a little more on this, it seems that most companies like Sprint and Verizon have blocked what is called short code messaging, which I have already unblocked.
therefore shortcode messaging is not the issue here, not the service provider so stop wasting anger on the poor lady or man who is assisting you with this issue, it is a minor bug in twitter in which i hope will become fixed
