SMS tweets just stopped being received suddenly. Help?
In the past two weeks, SMS tweets aren't being sent to my phone. They worked fine before(for months, with no problem), and now, nothing. I've tried deleting and re-adding my phone via the "add device" function. Though I can send updates to my account using 40404(My carrier is Sprint), when I re-added my phone number and sent in the text code I never got a reply (but 40404 works for updates.) It still isn't getting tweets sent to me via SMS. I only follow two people via SMS, but it's very important to me that I actually get those tweets sent to my mobile. Again, I can *update* via 40404 just fine. But tweets aren't being sent to me.

Inappropriate?I have never been able to receive updates, but i can send them, my carrier is Bell Mobility in Canada and I send to 21212. I have added and removed my phone several times. It also shows that it has sent the messages, i just never receive them.

Inappropriate?Just adding more information- The problem is only one way. It's absolutely *FROM* twitter, to my mobile. I can send direct messages to people from my phone and they are received normally on the far end. I can send regular updates to my twitter account. But I cannot receive anything (regular tweets or direct messages) via SMS. Would *really* like a solution to this one.
By the way- follow/unfollow doesn't work either. I'm not getting any verification of ANY kind from twitter. All other non-twitter text messages work normally, and I am not even remotely close to being over my texting limit (I just checked.)
I’m annoyed and confused

Inappropriate?I'm in Singapore and this happens to my friends and I every now and then, seemingly for no reason. If we delete our devices and then re-add them (including a text to the +44 number for authorization), then it starts to work again. Does anyone want to tell me why?

Is it possible that you hit the 250 sms per week limit for non-US Twitter users before the week is over? You can tell how many you've received as of now if you look at the sidebar on your home page. It's indicated there. I've noticed that if you delete the phone device and add it again, the counter is reset to 250. -
I'm afraid that is not the case. I am aware of just about every limit and nuance of Twitter's interface (forgive the tone if it sounds a little overconfident, but I'm sure the solution to this is not a common sense oversight), and am quite certain this is a problem on the server side, or with the people who provide SMS services to Twitter. -
Inappropriate?I experience the behavior that you describe also. However, in my case, sending ON to Twitter is usually enough to restart sms delivery for me. I don't need to go through the delete-and-verify process.
( The 250/week limit was what initially occurred to me because you mentioned needing to delete and re-verify. )
In any case, Twitter has an FAQ page for people who encounter the behavior that you described but who are still under the 250/week limit. See My SMS updates keep shutting off.
I’m in a good mood
