Some tweets from those I'm following don't show up, despite being in their recent list.
It's not like the only getting tweets from one or two others, but in this case, I notice (usually when I've missed some part of a conversation) that I've missed tweets from someone else. In particular, I don't get all of them from @TeeMonster. I'd like Twitter to help me keep up with friends, which it usually does very well, not make me think I'm losing my mind.

Inappropriate?I have the problem as well.
I receive tweets from a majority of the people whom i follow, but there are one or two people that I don't get updates from, or when I do get an update it's anywhere from 8 hours to 3 days later.
I’m throwing a pity party

Inappropriate?Mike -- at the risk of asking a silly question -- would you know if your notification setting is set to ON for the people whose tweets you're not getting?
I'm asking since you indicated that you miss tweets from specific people.
You can check by logging in, then going to your friend's profile page (e.g., http://twitter.com/username) and see if it says that you're following them and that notifications are on.
Twitter now defaults to notifications = OFF when you follow someone, so you need to take an extra step to set notifications to ON if you really want to receive the tweet via SMS or IM.
I’m not sure this will help, but figured I'd share just the same...

Inappropriate?Shannon -- It's possible that your replies preference is currently set to "Show me @replies to people I'm following" (which is the default setting).
This means that when Person A (whom you follow) replies to Person B (whom you don't follow), you won't receive a copy of Person A's reply.
However, if you follow both Person A and Person B, and Person A replies to Person B, you *will* get a copy of Person A's reply.
You can check your Replies Setting at http://twitter.com/account/notifications (you'll need to be logged in).
If you want to see all of your friends' replies, even if they're addressed to people you're not following, set your replies preference to "show me all @replies".
I’m not sure if I explained it clearly enough.

Inappropriate? The notification setting is set to off. However, I don't think I explained myself very well.
I'm not receiving (or I am sporadically receiving) the updates on my twitter homepage. -
Inappropriate?I'm actually no longer having this problem. I think Twitter did some upgrades and fixed it for me.

Inappropriate?Since the problem seems to be fixed for Shannon, I just wanted to clarify that I am still having this problem. Thanks =)

Inappropriate?Oh! It seems to be similar to this other thread (and I see you've also posted your problem there): Not seeing tweets from some contacts.
It really does seem like a bug. I hope it gets fixed soon.
