Inappropriate?Hello! Thanks for the heads up. We're suspending all activity on this account and hiding it on the public timeline. Happy holidays!
I’m thankful
The company and 2 other people say
this solves the problem

Inappropriate?i am quite confident that access1956, eric_canja, and angiemarx are all spam
I’m annoyed
-
Inappropriate? You can report spam accounts at http://twitter.com/help -- choose 'spam request' as the request type and include an explanation as to why you believe the account is spam.
P.S. the account eric_canja appears to have already been deleted since I can't find it anymore. Also agree that angiemarx looks like a spambot account. -
Inappropriate?Another spam account: http://twitter.com/missyinpink1987

Inappropriate? They changed the Twitter Help Request page. One can no longer choose 'spam request' and simply submit. In fact, when one submits a request there is no drop-down to indicate that one is submitting a spam account for consideration. They're also requiring one to provide a name and e-mail address (phone # optional) when submitting a help request.
I’m frustrated - spammers are overrunning Twitter & now they've made it harder to report 'em...
-
Looks like they've fixed it. Must have been a temporary glitch -
Yes, it appears this is no longer happening! Still getting spam accounts following me, but at least it's not as difficult to report 'em. Thank goodness. ;) -
Inappropriate?Hi @ggroovin. I think you get the page that requires a name and email address when you visit the Help Request page while you're not logged into Twitter.
Could you kindly try logging in and then going to http://twitter.com/help ? I just checked now (I'm logged in) and I was able to get the drop-down that let's me choose 'spam request' -
Inappropriate?Hm... perhaps I'm just special? I'm logged in and I get the Help Request page I described above. Maybe it has something to do with the 12 spam requests I've sent since yesterday? I can't help it if that's how many spammers are following me each damned day...
I’m feeling special... especially frustrated.

Inappropriate?Oh my. Hope you don't mind my asking -- did you receive any automatically generated emails which confirm that the spam reports you submitted yesterday were received by Twitter?
If yes, then one way to log your latest spam report is to click the 'ticket history' link in one of those email confirmations so you can view the spam report that you had previously logged.
The support page lets you append additional information to an existing support ticket for as long as it's still open. So my suggestion is to append your latest spam report to that existing ticket.
I've done this myself a couple of times, especially when it's the same type of spam and the accounts seem to be related. -
Inappropriate?@ggroovin, I think I just found the help page that you're talking about.
My guess is they're in the process of migrating from one help system to another.
1. http://twitter.com/help
This is the help request form I've been using, which lets me choose 'spam request' and doesn't ask for my name and email address if I'm already logged in.
2. http://help.twitter.com/index.php?pg=...
And here's the new help request page that I just saw, which asks you to provide your name and email address even if you're already logged in... and doesn't let you choose the request type.
Is it possible that you were looking at the #2 link and not the #1 link? That would explain why we were getting different pages. -
Inappropriate?Hey guys, sorry about that. http://help.twitter.com/ is back to normal and the the options (Spam, Request, Bug, etc.) are listed.
-
Thanks, Mark. Hope y'all find a way to reduce the # of spam accounts that are starting up. Seems like it's a torrent recently! Take care! -
Inappropriate?I contacted Twitter a while back about the user @desinformado, which seems to be a really broken rss feed to twitter bot. he posts the same thing, oh, about 50 times. On July 8, I got this response:
Hello, Thanks for the heads up. We've flagged this profile as spam. This profile will be monitored to track abusive behavior, and removed from Twitter if abusive behavior persists. You can also block
the profile if you haven't already: 1. Log in to Twitter 2. Go to the profile page of the person you wish to block. 3. Click Block (at bottom right, in the sidebar.) 4. Click OKAY to confirm the
block We've added automatic limits to prevent spam: http://getsatisfaction.com/twitter/to... Thanks for your patience in the meantime, and your help in keeping
Twitter a great place to be. Cheers,
That's the response. Notice how they say they're going to remove it, maybe? Well, he's still posting a crapload of duplicate stories, and I would link you to an example Summize search (now search.failwhale.com) showing you one, but any search containing from:desinformado (and any other word) seems to result in a 500 error. Just accept that it is true. -
Inappropriate? We can now also report spammers by sending a Direct Message to Twitter's @spam account.
To do this, you'll first need to follow http://twitter.com/spam. You can then send a direct message to @spam either by:
1. Typing a direct message from the "What are you doing?" box
Ex. d spam @spammy1, @spammy2 are spambots!
2. Sending a direct message from your phone
Ex. d spam @spammy3 is yet another spambot
3. Composing a direct message at http://twitter.com/direct_messages
