Inappropriate?Hey guys!!
Did you know that you can report the spammers?
==To Report Spam==
1) Copy the URL of the spammer to your clipboard.
2) Direct your browsers http://www.Twitter.com/help [note: For some reason that link IS CASE SENSITIVE -- make sure it's all lower case]
3) From the first drop box, select "Spam Report".
4) Paste the URL into each of the four boxes...
5) Hit submit.
Then you are done & do not have to worry about it, you can block them if you'd like but they will be deleted anyways later -- plus, what harm can they do when you don't see them in your friend feed?
Hope that helps everyone, any questions just ask. :-)
I’m confident that Twitter will respond to the spam reports if done correctly.
-
A few more things here...
One, it is "Send!" not "Submit", my bad, I hope you got that.
Two, you can send an entire list of links to them or user names to them as well. Just pile them all into the first box & hit "Send!". Seriously guys, I've been doing this for months & they respond within days.
Three, again, I will express to you the fact that blocking them will not do any good - if anything add more stress to the system. Simply report them, they will not be bothering you as long as you do not follow them. -
This is such a wide-spread issue with so much evidence that out there and so many reports that have already been sent in (this topic, for example), that we should not have to submit spam reports for each of the dozen occurrences we get. Talk about stressing the system, what about my carpal tunnel? -
Because Twitter does not always pay attention to this & the system is further stressed when someone blocks the account, because when Twitter goes to delete the account there is also the included deletion of that users block. Whereas, simply reporting the spam through the proper channels they have created & not blocking them, ensures that Twitter will see it & does not stress the system when they go to delete the spam account.
And, if you are really worried about your carpal tunnel, get off the damn computer. -
Doesn't the notice above, "Twitter is here!
19 employees are listening and participating" indicate they ARE here? Am I missing something? -
You are missing the fact that the "Twitter is here! 19 employees are listening and participating." notification is on each and every page related to Twitter. Thus saying, yes, there are 19 employees on Get Satisfaction, but that does not mean they have seen this thread or take action from here. Posting the usernames will do no good, would you like to copy & paste all of those to delete them? I know I wouldn't, I would rather have the report made through the proper channels so I could use the tools that were implemented there. -
My comment was not meant in a snarky manner so please refrain from such statements as this one "would you like to copy & paste all of those to delete them? I know I wouldn't, I would rather have the report made through the proper channels so I could use the tools that were implemented there." If you read MY first post on here you will see I didn't list usernames. Otherwise, thank you for explaining what the notification about Twitters presence really means. That was all I needed and asked for. -
You are right, I apologize for going overboard there on my response. I am clearly frustrated at the moment. -
Apology accepted. I'm sure this issue will be nipped in the bud soon. :-) -
*sighs* I'm ready for bed, I've been up for 30 hours... And, yes, Twitter is working on it I'm sure. -
From Twitter Support: We appreciate your help with finding and eliminating spam accounts. Not all account will qualify as spam, however. For those that do not, we recommend blocking the profile if you haven't already. Here's how...
Then they tell me how to block the user. -
NOTE: It says "FOR THOSE THAT DO NOT", speaking about "THOSE THAT DO NOT QUALIFY AS SPAM". If it is clearly spam like this 6figure stuff, then you do not need to block them. -
Inappropriate?Add gillespies3, sindeer1, raecorleya47, rustietemple, and vikifranka43 to the figure6team spammers list. I just Blocked them all.
I’m annoyed.
-
Did you not just read what I replied dude? There is no need to block them if you simply report them. -
Inappropriate?same issue. Here are the two spammers that got me today:
myrwynwork7
raecorleya47 -
Inappropriate?I've kicked a bunch of them out of my Twitter house this evening, too.
-
Inappropriate?More idiots:

Inappropriate?same problem here. it seems that if you block, another name quickly shows up.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate? How about simply coding up a response challenge in order to follow someone? A simple captcha will do. Better yet, followers could have to be approved a'la Facebook. I know we can lock down our feed, but then it prevents non-Twitterers from watching our feed, and locks it out of blog portals and such.
Yeah, I know I don't see their feed so it isn't a big deal, but come on...
I’m aggravated
-
I agree that Twitter should place a CAPTCHA of some sort. And, well, approved followers is exactly what the private feed is. -
Inappropriate?I'm tired of blocking these idiots (not to mention their SEO buddies). I'm glad that reporting them is effective, but it really shouldn't be so onerous a process. I should be able to do so from the page where I view their tweets, before I opt to follow them, right next to the block link.
I’m peeved

Inappropriate?Perhaps a 'Report spam' button added to the follower's info would be the easiest in the long run. Most people aren't going to take the time to cut and paste, they don't like being forced to leave a page.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Sorry, I intend to block them - don't want them having access to my tweets, and don't want to go to private - suggest a ""Report as spammer" in each profile, rather than having to fill a report for each one. Add these: http://twitter.com/eugenesand, http://twitter.com/zachariah11, http://twitter.com/hedvigcamerona2, http://twitter.com/barrymez1, http://twitter.com/morgunclif, http://twitter.com/bentshook9, http://twitter.com/alysia5

Inappropriate?

The last 7 replies from Twitter are verifications that they have deleted the account & I issued those reports no longer than 3 hours ago.
Guys, I can't stress it enough, use the report spam feature for now... IT WORKS.
edit: I got 2 more verification messages while making this post...
I’m happy & believe Twitter is doing their job just fine if you ask them to correctly.

Inappropriate?I blocked 8 in the last two days, six of them today. I did not know about this thread so I wasn't aware that I should post their Twitter IDS. I will do so in the future. I too will stop using Twitter because of this issue.
