I have just read tons of gripe posts about " twitter " and the " lost " followers on your twitter page.
This is a " free " and awesome service that they have brought to you.
The fact that people have the nerve to peg twitter as a " poorly run company" is beyond me. You aren't paying anything for twitter and it's super cool and innovative.
We're very lucky to have twitter no more poo flinging please:)
So take it easy, I lost mine too.. As you have probably read they are currently working on the issue.

Inappropriate?Twitter is a free service, but then so is Facebook, YouTube, Digg, Reddit, Last.fm, Google, and dozens of faaaar more reliable applications. Twitter is easily the least reliable web application I've ever used by far.

It may be unreliable but its not facebook or last fm its twitter unique and very kewl:)

I think that makes its problems all the more absurd. Think of how large Facebook and Last.fm are. Twitter in comparison is small as far as userbase AND the source code. For such a minimalistic application it has a huge number of problems.

Inappropriate?Yes, Twitter is free. And at this point, it also serves no purpose and has terrible service.
Yes, it's true that I shouldn't expect great service from something for free. But Twitter's service is ridiculous. If IM doesn't work (which it hasn't for the past 2 months) then I've lost the reason I singed up for it in the first place.
If I don't have followers or the ability to follow anyone else, then there goes the only other purpose as far as I see.
Goodbye Twitter. This is your time of dying.

I totally understand your frustration. When you love a product you want it to work 100% of the time. I also understand why you would gripe when the im is not working for you...but I don't think we should completely throw out a very innovative, new, free service:)
Let twitter work out the kinks...before we completely disown them. -

They said IM would be back soon. 2 months later isn't soon.
22 hours ago we were told the followers and stuff would be back in a few hours. Hasn't happened yet.
The only reason I'm still here is because I Want Sandy uses Twitter for IM interfacing and ping.fm won't tell me about the direct messages I get from there.
Twitter people: fix this mess. You created it all by yourself. You've been doing this for over a year under the Twitter name. You should know what you're doing by now.
