Sending text messages to non-twitter members, can it be done?

Your phone might have "send to multiple numbers" as an option with texting. My virgin mobile phone has a 'send to groups' option that can be modified via my phone's address book. To build the list, I'd add whomever contacts I'd want to include in the group. Then, I'd simply include the twitter contact number within the group. As a result, all the numbers saved to the contact group would receive the sms message as well as twitter.

Keep in mind, that if you send an @ or D command, and send to your specially made group, that twitter as well as everyone else within the group will receive the message that may have been intended to be private.

Some last things, keep in mind: people who don't have twitter might not understand why you are sending mass texts for whatever reason your twitter might be set up for. Make sure you're aware that your cell phone provider may very well charge you an sms message per phone number within your contact group. If you have 20 people plus twitter, you'd end up sending 21 separate texts.
