Text messages keep stopping?!?!

Every few days my phone stops receiving updates from Twitter. I am still well below the 250 texts/week limit. I can sometimes get it working again by texting "on" to Twitter, but I have to do this often. Is something broken?!

Since you mention the 250 SMS/week limit, you must be using Twitter's international +447624801423 No. to receive (and send) SMS.

During the past week, I suspect my SMS reception has sometimes been staying OFF after my nightly "sleep" period has ended (though it was OK today).

Over the past weeks, I've always been able to restore SMS reception by tweeting ON by whatever means I find convenient (web, Twitbin, cellityTweeter Java applet on cellphone, or even classical SMS). If you use classical SMS, any tweet should turn SMS back ON: it lets Twitter know your phone No. is alive & well and able to receive SMS again.

I’m pleased SMS works much better than a month ago!

If it does stop whenever it doesn't immediately get a delivery confirmation, that would explain it as my phone is frequently out of network coverage. However, I'm not sure that is happening because usually I just get a load of twitters when my phone gets a signal again, and it continues to work.

It has actually been a lot better in the last week, hopefully it's improving...

Captain_Planet, fwiw, I've had to send ON to Twitter three or four days in the past week because my sms delivery occasionally stops as well. Prior to this, it had been working fine for several weeks. I'm in Asia so I rely on the +44 number.
