Inappropriate?Yeah this is a weird web development problem! I'd like to get my user ID reinstated but I might have to just create a new account.
I’m Bummed!
-
Inappropriate? Thanks for letting us know about this problem - it's very frustrating that you can't restore. I'm hopeful we can get this fixed up quickly.

Inappropriate?This should now be fixed.

Still not fixed!!! -
Not fixed! You should have a look at the growing thread and remark it as "not solved" -

Inappropriate?I'm not having this issue trying to restore an account, but when I try to find friends based on my web email. Regardless if I enter my gmail or AOL information, it comes back with "this method requires a POST"
I’m frustrated

I got the same problem using my gmail information. -
I am having the same problem trying to add contacts from Gmail. I put in my login information, then it says it is loading my friends and then to "This method requires a post." -
i have the same problem with all my accounts, including gmail. -
Ditto w/Yahoo! and Gmail. -
adding Gmail contacts worked for me, but I'm getting "Requires a POST" when attempting to add either Hotmail or Yahoo contacts -
Inappropriate?I get this problem when trying to add contacts from yahoo / gmail...I give me credentials, hit the button, I get the "loading your contacts" wait wheel, then "This method requires a POST.".
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I just tried to sign up and get the same "This method requires a POST." at step #2....
"What to do now:
1. Tell us what you’re doing in the box above
2. Find some friends and follow what they’re doing
3. Turn on your mobile phone to update your friends on the go"
NOT a very good start.
I’m losing interest fast.

Inappropriate?I get the "This method requires a POST" as well when I try to load contacts from my GMail. Happens in the latest Camino and Firefox. Anyone got any advice?
I’m frustrated as h_ll...

Inappropriate?Same problem, any attempt in any browser to bring forth email contacts from Yahoo, gmail or hotmail gets all "This method requires a POST", at the url "https://twitter.com/invitations/invite_contacts?skipped_to=1". I just signed up yesterday, this is my first account.
I’m disappointed

I’m extremely cranky

Inappropriate?yeah, i've been trying to "find and follow" for the past few days and it always gives me "This requires POST". What part of the process requires POST?
Its definitely, 100% still broken. I can reproduce it every single time!
I’m sad

Inappropriate?same prob when trying to add a friend http://twitter.com/friendships/create...

That is expected behavior. Friendship create requests have to be POSTs. More info on that is available at the API documentation: http://groups.google.com/group/twitte... -
Inappropriate?I get this when I try to add friends this way too (via json or xml.)
-
Inappropriate? We just pushed another fix that should address the problem. Please let me know if it works for you or if problems remain.
-
That did not solve the problem for me. Still getting the "this method requires a POST" message. -
Jason - I'm still getting this 400 This method requires a POST when trying to use http://twitter.com/friendships/create... to add a friend via the API. Any ideas? -
Inappropriate?Still not working, error screen is gone, "this method requires a POST" is back.
Using Gmail.
-
Inappropriate?Same for me - stuill busted, and "this method requires a POST" is back.
I’m really wondering what is happeing here.
-
Inappropriate? There is still a problem, although the "POST" message has gone. Now, I get a screen stating there are people in my imported address book who are not on twitter, except that, the list is empty! There is a button for "send invites" and a checkbox for "select all" but no entries from the import.
-
Inappropriate?Still getting the "POST" message here. Almost ready to give up on twitter, not sure how they can let something like this drag on as long as they have.
I’m so frustrated I'm about to punt a kitten!
-
Inappropriate?
I still get the "This action requires a POST" message when looking for friends. Loosing interest faster than a Lamborghini at the Autobahn.
I’m not happy at all.
-
Inappropriate?just joined twitter, very excited about it, but i can't invite frends because of this "POST" issue, I HAVE NO FRIENDS!
I’m upset
-
Inappropriate? Why is this problem marked as solved? Could someone from the company re-open the problem, so that new users with this problem know that it isn't fixed?
Thanks. -
Inappropriate?I start to think the twitterfolks don't look at this thread after marking it as solved.
I’m disapointed
-
Inappropriate?I signed up for a new Twitter account today, and I get a "This method requires POST" message in FF2, FF3, IE7, and Safari 3.1 when I try to add friends. Can this issue please be reopened?
I’m patiently waiting for a solution
-
Inappropriate?
Well everyone, I think that they are working in this problem as we write.
It might be helpful if we use their contact information and write to them or find a phone number through 411 service.
I guess we are all desperate to have this work as soon as possible.
I'll try it and I'll let you know what comes of it.
I’m going to contact them.
-
Inappropriate?
My fellow Twitterranians, I tried calling 411 info to get a telephone number for Twitter and the operator tells me that their is no business by the name of Twitter, Inc at 539 Bryant Street Suite 403 in San Franscisco, Ca 94107. I guess we will have to wait on an employee to get back to us. Please let me know what comes of this. Thanks
I’m exhausted.
-
Inappropriate?Yea I'm trying to do this via XML and PHP's cURL and I get the same returned message: This method requires a POST.
I have curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, 1); and I have tried using True as well.
When I run my script without using WordPress it works as a stand alone, when I run it as a plugin I get the above return error.
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?Progress:
Message "This method requires a POST" disapeared now when I was trying to load my gmail contacts, but the contact list presented is empty. So my user need is still not fullfilled.
-
Inappropriate? There's another attempted fix for this going out for this soon. The problem has been a lot harder than it initially appeared.
-
Inappropriate?also having problems adding friends, right now i don't have any because i can't link my gmail with twitter.
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?Interesting. I tried against two different gmail accounts (both have copious amounts of contacts). Account A returned the "Hmmm... you don't have any email contacts"message.
The other returned "0 people from your address book are using Twitter!". Which is not true the person that told me about Twitter is in my address book with the email address that is associated with their Twitter account...
Clicking next at this stage takes me to a truncated list of contacts from my account so I can send invites. The fact that scores upon score of contacts are missing might explain the fact that none with Twitter accounts were found.
Also, the list is alphanumerically sorted with the first address starting with an "a" and the last with a "w". Missing contacts include addresses starting with "b" through "z"....
I’m not impressed
