Tracking isn't working on my iPhone.
I've been tracking a few words on Twitter for a while now, and I've realized that my iPhone never gets any updates for them. I get PLENTY of updates from the people that I track on mobile, but none from my tracked words.
For instance, I track "Dfest", as it's a music conference that I'm going to this weekend. I thought there just hadn't been any updates with "Dfest" in them, but once I checked out Summize (Twitter search), I saw a lot of updates for "Dfest" over the last few days.
I even texted "tracks" to Twitter to make sure I was tracking it, and it verified my claim. It showed me quite a few words, none of which I have ever received updates for.

Inappropriate?Tracking hasn't been working on ANY phone for 10 - 12 weeks now: Twitter disabled this feature some time in May 2008 (if I remember correctly), but they hope to bring it back one day.
To follow Twitter's progress on this issue, visit the sidebar of the Twitter Status page, which displays current status information about individual Twitter components under the heading Status per Feature.
The colours indicate
Green = All systems OK
Orange = Not in full working order
Red = Offline
If the mouse is moved over the coloured bar, slightly more detailed information shows up,
e.g. Track: Offline. Needs reworking.
I'd like Track back, too!
I’m VERY long-term hopeful...

Inappropriate?Ah. Well, thank you. Problem "solved", I guess.
I’m glad to at least know that I'm not the ONLY on with this problem...

Inappropriate?I have created a bot that will provide the same functionality.
1. Follow Tweettrak
2. Send a direct message to tweettrak: 'track @RyanK' (substituting your username, or any other search term)
3. enjoy track functionality!
4. Tweet about it and tell your friends!
Website coming soon which will let you filter out people you already have device notifications on for, among some other features. It should scale really well as long as I don't hit any artifical limits for sending messages... in which case twitter should be able to whitelist it... assuming they aren't as slow as they are to turn on auto-following.
Happy to take feedback and suggestions.. I'm tracking both tweettrak and @RyanK... So, I'll see your tweets
I’m confident
