Tweets from people I'm following don't show up on my home or on 'with friends'
Why does my 'with others' feed have a big gap in updates from everybody I am following? The updates from people I'm following stopped appearing on my homepage (and my 'with friends' page) from the morning of March 28 and only now, several days later, the first new tweet just appeared a few minutes ago. During that time there were 20 or more updates from the people I was following, and none of those show up for me on the site, or in twhirl.

Inappropriate?By any chance -- are those missing tweets from your friends also @replies to other people?
I visited http://twitter.com/psoplayer and noticed that your with_friends page is missing a lot of recent tweets from http://twitter.com/jfhscribbles
When I compare the tweets that are in your with_friends page against the tweets on the profile page of @jfhscribbles, I noticed that the ones that are missing are @replies sent by jfhscribbles to people that you're not following.
If my guess is right, this has something to do with your @replies notification settings.
You most likely have your account set to "show me @replies to the people I'm following" since this is the default. This means that if people you're following send an @reply to someone else that you're NOT following, you won't get a copy of the message on your home page.
To see everything, change your setting to "show me all @replies" -- note, however, this means that you may get one-sided conversations since you're not following the person that the @reply is addressed to.
(I'm not sure I explained it clearly enough, but I hope this helps.) -
Inappropriate? No, I understand what you're saying, but I'm missing more than that. The examples I have to show are updates from zefrank or zachwlewis. One has a large number of followers and one has a few, so I don't think it's a problem with Twitter's scalability.
I've found two other reports that seem to be similar, if not identical bugs (the first being the older thread):

http://getsatisfaction.com/twitter/to...
I'm not sure if I should bump those and close this one or to just stick with this one. -
Inappropriate?Ah, yes! I know which bug you mean.
I think another relevant thread to bump would be this one:

Someone there (@bodyvisual) put together a simple web utility that automatically unfollows and re-follows your friends so it forcibly clears your cache.
If you're concerned about security, you can always change your Twitter password temporarily to something else before using it, then change it back right after. -
Added Jun 8, 2008: Twitter is introducing limits to the number of people you can follow in a short time so I advise against using this script. -
Inappropriate? Also having this problem. Commented with a suggestion in the parallel topic, here: http://getsatisfaction.com/twitter/to...
