Inappropriate?http://www.twitlet.com it's the fastest and simplest way to twitter (because it's using javascript's prompt window.) no character count yet :) but it's on the way.

you mean 'if' it goes away. in that case you can use twitthat or twitterfox and the dozens that will come no doubt.

very nice. thank you. at first i thought this wasn't so great but then i realized that every time i use twitlet i tent to go check my tweet stream again so this just does it more concisely.
also how about having it open a new tab instead of in the new window? -
I think for bookmarklets it's technically impossible. Maybe there's a workaround if you use Firefox and Greasemonkey. If you can find a bookmarklet that opens a new tab post it here and I'll take a look if I can implement it's behavior.

Inappropriate?Quite some time ago I've created two twitter bookmarklets for myself. All they do is shorten a url of the page that you are on, and redirect to Twitter with a shortened link pre-entered into the status field. ONLY the link is entered into the field, as adding page's title does nothing for me.

Inappropriate?You can now use bit.ly bookmarklet to both shorten URL and post to Twitter.
Go to http://bit.ly and look at the right side of the page. -
