Twitter doesn't seem to give a damn about spam bots. I had to make my updates private because so many bots were adding me.
When twitter doesn't take enough responsibility about spam bots to the point where I have to make my updates private after 15 bots add me in the space of 5 minutes, I get mad. I would think twitter would have something in place besides reporting bots to twitter.com/spam , which seems to do VERY LITTLE.
Clearly twitter recognizes there is a problem, yet chooses to do nothing about it.
Reporting them to @spam is NOT a good solution. It takes too long to get bots killed, if they get killed. Twitter needs to spend more time on its API figuring out how to kill spambots and less time on things like Trending Topics and the "more" button and other API nonsense that has only made twitter slower.
When I have to make my updates PRIVATE, when they have NEVER been private, and I do not WANT for them to be private, all to avoid spambots, something is definitely wrong with twitter.
DO SOMETHING! Protect us from spam bots.

people have this problem
I have this problem, too!
Tell me when someone solves it.
The more people who report this problem, the more it gets noticed.

Inappropriate?Twitter, please do something about spam! We are getting too much of it and you are not doing anything about it. Mass-following spammers should be stopped. This includes marketers, social media "gurus," and all of that nonsense.

Inappropriate?Okay, so I agree about the "trending topics" section. I couldn't give a rat's a$$ about trendsters. I'm not here because of a trend. F- trends. N'K? N'K.
AND
I know twitter is trying to deliver a stable product. But I am ignorant of how to stay informed about how much they care about the non-spamming, non-e-biz, non-predatory, non-porn-bot twit-verse. If they care, where do I read about this? Where is there a video of some CEO twit telling me they are working on it and such-and-such is the latest of their efforts? Do I have to go to a blog which is filled with updates on everything BUT efforts to curtail spam?
I have seen alot of press and buzz about how twitter can help serve business. Oh, yeah. Plenty of that! But what if I'm NOT trying to exploit anyone or NOT trying to get money out of anyone? I really can't tell if anyone gives a damn about my demographic.
Hello? Anybody home?
I’m confused
