Twitter Error to Follow - Something went wrong!

I get this quite a lot actually. I reload. Try again. Reload. Try again. And sometimes, if I'm lucky, it works.

I've been having this same problem today. Twitter just won't let me follow someone new.

I also get "Something went wrong! Please refresh the page and try again." when i try to follow someone. I cannot follow any new people now. I'm not alone; do a search on www.summize.com and you'll see a lot of new people are experiencing this problem on Twitter today. Twitter, this is obviously either a major outage/bug of some kind, or you have instituted some kind of new policy that appears to be breaking your service. Twitter simply is not usable if we cannot follow new people. Please fix this immediately, Twitter - you are rapidly alienating your users.

I saw the Twitter Status update "Update (10:16a): Clients like Twitterific are reporting success again. We’re watching the situation, but consider this issue resolved."

I tried adding people again and it worked. Looks like problem is solved for now. I recommend adding the Twitter Status to your RSS reader.

i got two people added and then it gave me same error. Perhaps their server capacity isn't up to par.
