Inappropriate?Throw eggs at the Twitter offices until IM comes back or we get real information about what's taking so long and when we can expect it back. After all, it's been down for over a month now.
I don't really advocate violence or wasting eggs. But if it gets things done...

Seriously this is the same outage since the lat time I tried to activate chat?
Every couple weeks I try to activate my twitter because clients ask about it and I 'm curious to what extent it's really useful and not a blip trend. (I work with political orgs to get online) And frankly, how can give anything but a poor review of a product that refuses to even turn on for users.
"sure your campaign can twitter, but only if they fix it so you sign up and authorize, and that goes down for a month or two at a time." I know I'll just say twitter is out of season, like oysters. "Your campaign could twitter, but if try now it'll make you sick. Best to wait till it's in season again, though I don't know when that is."

Inappropriate?Yep, same one. With no end in sight, I'm telling everyone I know just to stay away. It's a cool idea in theory, but any service that has downtime for something that lasts this long is just sad.

Inappropriate?I agree with waffles, twitter was up and running fine in gtalk until a month ago. In gmail twitter@twitter.com doesn't show up as online but i would still get tweets from people, but i couldn't update twitter from gtalk.
Then i deleted the account thinking it was just faulty and tried to reactivate it, but i sent it invite to chat with noo repsonse for a week!
Seriously......
I am really frustrated with this whole mess and all the down time, I can understand a couple of hours, maybe a couple of days, but weeks?!?! MONTHS?!?!
How long?
Maybe you should just remove the feature until you decide it is important enough to fix it PROPERLY!
twitter fix yourself or I'm just gonna (sadly) find a replacement.
Or at least let us know what the deal is.

Inappropriate?Hi xtremsportsdude. There was an update or two posted at another thread around 2 to 3 weeks ago where they said they're rebuilding IM instead of just 'repairing' it. I think if there are official announcements in the future, it will most likely be posted there or on the Twitter Status blog.
