Twitter not letting me post Oct 13, 2009

Twitter will not update my status. This is affecting TweetDeck as well. I am able to refresh and read everyone's tweets but I've been unable to post an update for over 1 hour. The circling icon never quits circling. I refresh, close browser, restart pc, resync twitter, test messages, etc but I cannot post. I know my API isn't maxed because I can see it is over 100. Tweetdeck says "problem updating myusername :-(" so I am unable to use twitter or tweetdeck. i have checked twitter status and this is not a current issue.
