Twitter not updating via SMS in a timely fashion
SMS messages to twitter are taking to long to update on my account. Sent a message at 7:30am and blog said it came in at 10:30am. It's messing up my timeline.

Inappropriate?I am having this problem as well, with my verizon phone service. No problems at ALL until about 2 days ago, now my updates take 4 hours to get to twitter. What's up?

Inappropriate?I am also having a problem...I have seen it take as long as 7 hours with SMS Updates the last 2 days as well...and Loopt totally fails to work with Twitter now as well, probably cause it also uses SMS to update. What gives, Twitter?

Inappropriate?Hello. Could you kindly provide the following info so we can see if there's a pattern here:
1. Your username
2. Your country and mobile carrier
3. Nature of the sms delay problem:
a) sms that I sent to Twitter appears on my account much later
b) tweets posted by people I follow are received by me via sms much later
c) both A and B
4. URLs to tweets which had delivery delays so we can see when this problem was first noticed. If you know how long the delay is, please indicate that too.
If everyone is encountering delayed sms from the same provider, there's a good chance that the problem is not with Twitter but rather with the carrier or with the interface to the carrier. The above information will help establish a pattern if there is one. -

Inappropriate?See this "main thread" too: a large number of users on different providers report considerable SMS delays or non-delivery.
I've given related threads the tag sms 2008oct31.
The same problem is currently frequent in the timeline of a search for @Twitter, too.
Perhaps it's nearing the time for someone to submit a joint Support Ticket? ;) -

• Verizon (USA) users
• Other users whose SMS aren't getting through (from late Oct 2008).
where Emee and crystal (respectively) are collecting users' data for Canada and for Verizon (USA), respectively, to help cure the underlying problems.
Many users have reported in those threads, making them quite long.
So please look out for the newest information, especially if this post is a few days (or more) old as you read it.
Things are moving quite quickly as I write.
