Twitter should allow @ reply monitor settings on per-user basis
I'm looking for an ability to monitor @ replies from my contacts on a on per-user basis. For some contacts, I am interested in building my network to include their frequent contacts. Other people are overwhelming, and I'd rather just see their "to all" tweets and messages actually to me.

Inappropriate? This would be the perfect answer to the "broadcasters" versus "responders" dilemma described here:

I like seeing people's responses, but only those people who are good at using @replies with appropriate context. It's a great way to get to know other cool people to follow, too! And that's why I don't want to turn off seeing @replies altogether.
However, there are so many people who are SO prolific in their @conversations that it is completely overwhelming to keep following them. But their non-@ comments may be awesome! I really don't want to unfollow, but I don't want to turn off @replies entirely either!!!
Please, please give us an option to set @replies per user?
I’m worried there may be more important problems to solve, but hoping this one is considered too!

Inappropriate? This is _so_ needed. I didn't even realize how this worked until recently. I initially changed my reply settings to see all replies, and I picked up a lot of interesting people to follow that way. On the other hand, it makes it totally unusable to follow many of the more popular people. I really, really would like this to be a per-user setting.

Inappropriate? There's already a mechanism in place where you start following someone to optionally choose whether that person's tweets are sent to your SMS device. There could be another option right there to choose whether to receive their @ replies as well.
I’m anxious to see this no-brainer feature.

Inappropriate? This feature is sorely needed - especially for mobile updates! There are so many people that I have had to stop following because of their prolific tweets, but I'd still love to see messages that are intended for me (that aren't directs).
I’m frustrated
