Typing over 140 characters, textbox loses cursor focus
when typing over 140 characters, the cursor focus jumps out of the text box. It seems to sometimes page back a couple of web pages at times, and I have to hit the forward arrow to get back to the text I was typing.

Inappropriate?I have this same trouble too. I like being able to type out all that I want and then revise back to 140 characters. This bug has caused me to loose messages - they just disappear when I go over 140.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? It didn't used to do this. It's something that changed with a recent twitter upgrade. For instance, if I paste in over 140 characters and try to edit it down to size using the backspace, every time I backspace a character, the cursor focus moves out of the text box.
If twitter doesn't plan on fixing it, it'd be nice to know. Was this a deliberate change, or is it in fact a bug?
I understand twitter has limited resources, I'm just hoping that my feedback helps make the user experience better. I don't see a practical reason for the change.
Thanks for any response.
I’m sticking my tongue out.

Inappropriate? There is no doubt this is a bug (I hope they don't pawn it off as a "feature"). I think they modified JavaScript to disable the update button or something and it is having unintended consequences. Very annoying.
I’m annoyed as hell

Inappropriate?...and motowntownmutt is going to keep on asking this question.
You're on someone's page, and you view a 140 character tweet you want to retweet. You copy the whole thing, hit the home link, type RETWEET: @ and hit paste. Now you want to edit out a few un-necessary words so it fits 140. After 10 or so characters, you hit backspace and all of a sudden *POOF* you're taken back to the original tweeter's page. You click back to the page, back into the textbox, hit backspace twice and *POOF*.
This did not used to happen. Now it does.
Was this something maliciously done by a departing team member? Was there any documentation, code comments, anything that could be a clue to fixing it?
Was this somehow an added feature to help alleviate the cache problem, (which is what the upgrade was, if I remember correctly)?
I realise keeping twitter afloat is a never-ending job, and I sympathize. I'm just asking why something that was fixed once, is now broken worse than it was before, and there is no official word on it.
A) It's broke and we have no idea how to fix it.
B) It's broke but we have other things to fix before we fix it.
C) It's a feature and we don't plan on fixing it.
D) Thank you for your submission, you will be ignored in the order in which your message was submitted.
I’m !@#$-ing up a rope, is how it makes me feel.

Inappropriate? It appears they've fixed the problem. Thankyou thankyou thankyou.
Sorry for using a slang term for emptying the bladder in my previous "how does it make you feel" reply.
I’m sticking my tongue out again.
