UM (Uni-Twit) vs DM or @reply
Is it time for a new twit type, Uni-twit?
DM requires followship, @ is public. However as new #iranelection has shown, We need some way to send a direct message without making it public or requiring recipient to have followed us already. Think safe words, warnings, etc. The problem with DM only method is that it increases background noise when it is not really merited. a UM can be checked similar to @reply without being public.
