Uploading profile picture caused permanent lost access to account

I created a Twitter account. Then, when I was uploading a picture into the profile the account disappeared. When I try logging in it says tells me is a mismatch. Then, when I use the 'forgot password' feature it can't find the account by name or by email address. If I try creating the account again, it says the username and email address is available UNTIL I click create account. Then, it says they are taken.

I tried creating an account with a different name and email address and the same thing happened. When I tried uploading an image for the profile, the account disappeared.

Anyone else having this problem? Any solutions. I would like to get the first account to work because it has the name I want to use.
