Verizon and Twitter SMS updates stopped last week.

Well it looks as if Verizon won on charging the 3 cents per SMS. Now the question is how will we get our SMS updates of the people we follow? Is there a way to receive them via email, and not just the replies like twittermail? I REALLY wish I had just switched to Verizon!!!
