What does "deny" do in follower requests?

I haven't received a notification via email so far.

However, when I returned to your profile page, it now says: "My updates are protected. Request to follow me." -- which is what it said when I first went to your profile to conduct our little experiment. 8-)

Will wait another hour or so to see if an email will arrive.

maybe in an hour or so, try adding me again and see what it says? I know some services are set so that if a person is denied, they're not allowed to keep retrying to add you. (which lets them know they were denied, heh.)

Hi Deanna. It's been an hour and so far, I've not received an email notification that my request to follow you has been denied.

Anyway, I've now requested to follow you again and it didn't stop me from doing so. Maybe the third time's the charm. LOL!

I guess if you don't get any notification within a day or so, that means there's a no-tell policy for being denied.

A 'no-tell' policy does seem consistent with how Twitter handles privacy.

For example, they also don't tell users when someone stops following them.

Anyway, I just visited your profile and it looks like I can still try to follow you, because there's still a link that reads: "request to follow me" 8-)
