What's this magic update limit I've reached?

I've hit some magic limit not disclosed. I haven't sent 1,000 tweets today... What gives? This keeps happening despite the fact that Twitter has not updated limit numbers. If we can only send some odd number of tweets an hour, this should be disclosed in the help section. Or Twitter needs to increase this limit.
