Where are my tweets?!

Same here. GRRRR

My tweets between April 15th and August 1st are missing. Where are they? It's a big problem....

All my tweets from before the 31st are missing! I had 1500+ disappear

I noticed yesterday that about 3000+ tweets of mine has gone,and it is now showing only 115..WTF!!

I have the same problem my tweets are missing. Everything before July 31st is gone...
where are they????

did anyone get an official ticket for this? i cant figure out how to submit a request on the help site!

Same here, everything before 7/31/09 is gone. Around 4000 tweets. :(

I have the same issue, and don't see anything on the Known Issues list about this. I also could not figure out how to submit and issue on the help site. Twitter, please respond - I would be devastated to lose my tweet history.

(While you're at it, could you please give us a feature for downloading the archive?)

they don't have a "submit a new issue" button

it took me forever to figure this out but you have to login and then go to http://twitter.zendesk.com/requests/new/ to report an issue

My tweets were still there yesterday, today morning they were gone, almost 6000 tweets, as the current count appears in the 300-ish. Thanks for tip missmarlee. Will try using that to report the problem.

Ugh, same here! To think that I stopped backing up my tweets back in December because I thought Twitter was getting stable enough to not worry about it anymore.

This has happened before, and they did come back. Server backup issue, I believe. @bluemonq, what do you use to back up your tweets?

@michele: I did things the stupid way: went into my archives and manually saved each page of tweets. While it's stupid and slow, it's pretty much foolproof. Didn't take too much time either since I would save only a week's worth of tweets at a time. I experimented with saving tweets through the RSS feed, but I use Google Reader, and for some reason it wouldn't grab all of them. You could look into LifestreamBackup; it's a pay service, but if you haven't saved them at all, the 15 day trial will let you grab all of them in XML format.

My tweets from before 31st July have disappeared too. But only in the last couple of days! I am furious.

All of my tweets for the last 2 years have just disappeared.

They're aware of the problem and people might be seeing it resolved in the upcoming days. But I do recommend posting your own reply in that thread with your particular situation:

@johnytyh that may or may not be helpful. when i first posted to that, the first post indicated that that thread was only for people whose tweet count was off, and if actual tweets were missing it was a different problem. i see that part is gone now, so maybe the fix applies? oh well; couldn't hurt to post there anyways.

@artgrrrl try clearing your cookies, or try using a different browser for it.

Mine are missing too- also since July 31st and over 4000 tweets. This is ridiculous- they really need to fix it!

since it looks like it's been a couple of weeks since anyone has said anything about this, has anyone gotten this resolved? i'm having the exact same problem. well over 1000 tweets, down to 200 suddenly. nothing visible before July 31st.

i guess, at least, i'm glad i'm not the only one!

i had to send a message directly to @lukester and he fixed it up quick (within a couple o days). i think they're probably only restoring folks who ask figuring people who don't just don't care.

i'm also backing up my tweets now. never realized how important they were to me til they were gone!

Sending an @reply to @lukester seems to be the thing that works. He fixed mine within two hours! So glad to have my Tweets back! Yay

I opened a an issue on the support site a while ago (thanks for the link missmarlee), which was quickly closed after they sent me an email telling me how to restore a closed account (totally not the problem). I replied and received no response (Support FAIL)! I just sent a message to @lukester, hope he can help.

@lukester is TOTALLY the answer. i got back 3000 missing tweets within a day. sang his praises all over twitter. thanks for the tip!!

I have only been using Twitter for a few months, and this is the third time my tweets ( and background) have disappeared - this time it's been two weeks! I'm about to give up on Twitter
