Why am I suddenly following 750 people I wasn't following last night?
My Twitter account suddenly auto-followed hundreds of users last night... very curious as to how this may have happened and whether or not there's a remedy.

Inappropriate?Hi Andy. Did you recently try out a new third-party application that offers an "auto-follow" feature?
My guess is that a third-party app auto-followed everyone who is already following you because your new following/follower ratio is now almost 1:1
I don't know of an easy way to fix the problem, unfortunately... other than manually removing each person you don't want to follow at http://twitter.com/friends
As a precautionary measure, I suggest you change your Twitter password. This way, in case it *was* a third party app that caused the auto-follow, then it won't be able to auto-follow people again after you stop following them. -
Inappropriate?was afraid this might be the case and I'm trying to think of what app it could have been.... I did recently start using http://m.slandr.net to pull Twitter to my mobile. Perhaps I rolled over my phone in my sleep and hit an auto-follow option? Never knew there was one... would be interesting to know what App caused this so I can warn people to take caution in the future!
I’m undecided

Inappropriate? One third-party app that I know offers auto-follow is http://tweetlater.com. Could that have been it?
-
Inappropriate?Hmm... nope -- that's the first time I've seen that site... i'll change my twitter password just to be safe...
-
Inappropriate?Hm. Just found one more via Google Search: http://socialtoo.com ?
-
Inappropriate?that was it. I blame myself for being ignorant in my signing up -- it's pretty obvious that this is exactly what I signed up for. It did take a few days to execute.
I’m thankful

Wow. I'm glad we found it. That was such a shot in the dark. Google search, ftw! haha!
