Why can't I delete?
I click the garbage can on my Home page for deleting my own Tweet, but it won't delete.

Inappropriate?I have this issue also. If I click delete, it confirms that I want to delete the message, but does not remove it when the page refreshes. Tried this 10x more, no result. Temporary solution: log out, log back in, THEN click to delete that same message = works for me. What a hassle! TWITTER: pls fix!
I’m annoyed
-
Inappropriate?Yay! Parlimi: I had the same problem and your solution worked.
Thank you!
I’m Amused, but not in a good way!
-
Inappropriate?I was using Firefox on a Mac, and could not delete. But when I changed to Safari it worked easily!
-
Inappropriate?Using Firefox on PC and can not delete and Will not change but will bad mouth till you fix it. Are you being paid peanuts, or are you waiting to be peed on?
I’m gaining water!
-
Inappropriate?Yeah, I was having this problem, too. I was using Firefox. When I switched to Internet Explorer (the devil) I was able to delete my tweet with no problem!
-
Aren't you lucky. I'm on a Mac and no browser works for me. I'm new to Twitter, and I may be gone soon if this doesn't get fixed... -
Inappropriate?@crystal: This topic is about deleting a tweet, not deleting an account. That link does not address this issue, which is continuing...
-
Inappropriate? It makes me irritated, and causes me to expel very rude words.
I’m frustrated beyond real words
-
It seems to only be firefox that this problem occurs in... Opera works in deleting as well as safari and *shiver* Internet explorer. -
Inappropriate?Running Mac OSX. Can't delete in Firefox, Safari, or IE. New to Twitter, and extremely unimpressed so far. Impress me, or you've lost me.
I’m unimpressed.

Inappropriate?Boa, could you kindly elaborate further? Did you get an error message?
I just deleted one of my tweets. After I clicked on the trash can icon next to the tweets:
1. Twitter asked me to confirm the deletion in a pop-up
2. After I clicked yes, Twitter reloaded the page. A confirmation message that reads: "Deleted!" appeared briefly at the top of the page, before fading away.
3. When I check the tweets displayed on the page, the one that I had deleted is gone.
I wonder if clearing the browser cache will help. -
Inappropriate?I tried everything on safari but could not delete posts. Was able to on firefox. Frustrating. Thanks for the tips peeps
I’m nice n crabby about it
-
Inappropriate?Mdy, no I didn't get any type of error message. Steps 1 and 2 are correct, but then the page reloads and my tweet is still there. Logged out and back in...that didn't help.
Browser cache...? Mine self-cleans. Macintosh, remember? -
Inappropriate?Hi Boa.
Sadly, I'm one of those PC users who has never used a Mac, so I didn't know it self-cleans. That sounds pretty neat. 8-)
At this point I think your best bet is to contact Twitter support directly at http://twitter.com/help
P.S.
If after logging your support issue above, you feel up to experimenting a little, I do have one other suggestion that you might want to try. Please be forewarned, though, that I have no idea if it will make any difference.
Anyway, here it is -- could you try following someone new, or un-following and re-following one of your friends?
It's my understanding that following or un-following people forces Twitter to refresh our account's cache on their servers. Since they had some cache issues yesterday, perhaps this can "kick start" your account.

this solves the problem

Inappropriate?I'll try that, mdy! I didn't have anyone on my follow list when I made my first couple of tweets (and then tried to delete one), but I do now. I'll see if it helps!
EDIT: Cool beans! It worked! Thanks mdy!!! -
WOW! That's great! I'm happy!! -
Inappropriate?I have this problem too. VERY FRUSTRATING. I agree with Boa- there are too many other social networking sites out there that function correctly to waste my time on what that doesn't.
I’m furious
-
Inappropriate?I'm a PC user, I work with firefox and that thing doesn't get deleted, i tried with Internet Explorer too, but didn't work :(
I’m FRUSTRATED!
-
Inappropriate?well, i tried everything suggested on here, and none of it worked! EGADS, TWITTER. WHAT'S WRONG?!
I’m aggrevated.
