Why can't I register? Name not taken!
I cannot get the name for my URL and trademark yet no one else has it. I submitted this request 341404 at least 2 months ago (with many updates) and have only received an automated response. Please help!

Inappropriate?celia:
It's just possible that the Twitter username in question still belongs to a deleted account. Twitter holds deleted accounts "in limbo" for 6 months in case the original user has a change of heart.
Twitter's crystal explains how to proceed in her post on inactive user name requests (please click):Since inactive user name requests are such a popular thing, they now have their own address.
I recommend that you submit an extra request as crystal describes, in which you include your original support number (341404) as well as this link to your post in this thread. Finally, post the new support ticket number here too, so that Twitter have all necessary infos at their fingertips once they see your new ticket.
I'd normally recommend updating your original ticket in the manner you described. However, it's just possible that your request somehow got "forgotten" when Twitter changed to their new system for inactive user name requests, which is why I recommend a new ticket this one time.
Twitter should at least be able to let you know how soon - if at all - the desired username might be available.
I’m hoping this helps a little.

Eridanus, Emee at Twitter fixed it in about 2 minutes! Actually, I had inadvertently frozen the name by starting to register it before I had a company email address -- but I stopped when it said it would close my personal account if I proceeded. So, I never understood why it was frozen since I stopped short of registering. Probably got lost in the system change. Anyway, thanks for your expert advice. Emee at Twitter really game through for us and so did GetSatisfaction! I am very impressed with both companies. Thanks again :-)
