Why do I receive SMS tweets after the 'off' time for notifications?
I have Twitter notifications turned off between 11PM and 7AM. However, I still get some tweets between 11PM and 12 or 1AM (not quite sure what the limit is). Is this possibly a time zone issue? Yes - I do have my time zone set correctly on the settings page.

Inappropriate?I had this issue. I had the time zone set, but then it reset to the default so I had to change it again. Once I did that my notification preferences were honored.
