why does blocking twats not stop their tweets appearing in my track?
I just blocked a whole bunch of twats that keep sending the same messages over and over, and all of them the same message. I wasn't following them, but have a 'track' in IM on a particular keyword.
I was expecting the blocking would prevent these messages from getting through, but I just received the whole batch of the same message AGAIN, 14 or 15 times the same message, the same that was sent countless times before also.
How do I get rid of these without giving up my track which is valuable to me? I just don't want to see the tweets from THESE twats I've blocked already.

Inappropriate?Twitter recently acknowledged that Track should recognize Blocks, although it currently doesn't.
Here's the relevant excerpt:
goldtoe: There are areas where we can improve our tools. For example, the track feature does not currently obey the block list, but it should.
So it's just a question of time, resources, and priorities before this situation is remedied.
I’m happy Twitter has acknowledged the problem (though I suspect it will be a while before it's fixed).

It definitely should!
(Since I'm not following them I can't say they're spamming, but it's borderline spam anyway with all of them repeatedly sending the same message.)
Let's hope this becomes a priority then.
