Why doesn't my followers count tally with the # of tweeps on my followers list?
I have a small (< 20) number of followers - which explans why I noticed the discrepancy. When I view my "Followers" page it says near the top that 18 people are following me. However, when I manually counted the tweeps on the list there were only 14. (And yes, I'm certain there wasn't a second page containing additional followers.)
IF there are indeed 18 tweeps following me, I'd sure like to know who the invisible four are. If, OTOH, I only have 14 followers, then why does i say 18 at the top of the page?

Inappropriate?My home page says that I have 8 followers, but when I click on the link and count them manually, only 5 show up. How can we find out who our "ghost followers" are? Why are these "ghost followers" not showing up?

Inappropriate?I think I know what the problem might be.. The numbers are different from the actual list because some people decided to follow and then changed their minds. I think that Twitter doesn't erase those, so the count doesn't tally with the actual followers list. I don't think there are ghost followers..1 Comment

I don't think that is it. This has only just started happening in the last couple of weeks, and during that time, I have also gained and lost "real" followers in the normal way. -
