Why doesn't support reply to bug reports?
I reported a bug of the search engine on december the 9. It's quite worrying, because the twitter search engine finds event the tweets that I've deleted. Now, today more tan two weeks are gone and no-one answered me at all. Neither a "we're working on it", no: nothing!
Now, what should I do in order to obtain a reply for my bug (at least I should know that they read the report!).
Thanks.

Inappropriate?Hi Andrea. Can you clarify -- did you mean you're still finding tweets in Twitter Search that you've already deleted from your Twitter account?
If yes, that's actually a known problem that Twitter says they will be fixing, although there's no definite or announced timeline yet.
It came about because Search used to be a different company with its own copy of the Twitter database, and it was only acquired by Twitter a few months ago. So the main Twitter site and the Search site aren't fully integrated yet.
Since you mention having a support ticket, my suggestion (if you haven't done so yet) is to include the exact URLs that you want to be removed from search in your ticket, that way when Support finally gets a chance to look at your ticket, they'll know exactly which tweets need to be worked on.
It apparently takes a while to get a response from Support since they're dealing with a backlog. -
Inappropriate?Yes, I mean that i find tweets 1 month and a half old. Well, I can submit the url, but how can I be sure that they are all? Couldn't they do a database sync or something like that?
At least they could have answered me with "provide more info". They haven't.
-
Inappropriate?I don't know the technical workings well enough to know if it's a simple matter for them to do a db sync.
I just figure that since it takes a while to get a response from Support, it would be a shame if the appropriate action is delayed further by them having to ask you for more info, and you waiting until they get back to your ticket again after you've replied with the info they need (assuming they need it).
Oh, did you at least get an auto-generated email acknowledging that your ticket was received? Some people have reported not getting the auto-generated email only to learn later that their ISPs have blocked Twitter email. If you got the auto-generated email then at least we know that you'll get an email from Support when they reply. -
Inappropriate?Yes, I got that mail. Mmm... So the only thing to do is wait? Not so good...
-
Inappropriate? What are you tweeting that you have to delete from twitter search so urgently? I happen to like that it has deleted tweets, it helped me diagnose a problem with someone's account.
Twitter Search isn't built on Ruby on Fails, so they have a different setup. I wish Twitter hadn't bought them, because I've noticed it break a LOT more since they were acquired. Also, Twitter Search used to be Summize, which previously had the goal of indexing ALL microblogging sites, not just twitter. It's very sad.

Inappropriate?Well, if I need to delete a tweet it should be deleted immediately. Wouldn't you mind if some of your business* remains online without your knowledge and accessible by anyone?
* I hope to say it correctly in English.
I’m undecided
-
Inappropriate?Whenever I publish anything on the Internet (on Twitter, in a Forum, wherever), I assume that it may be around forever, in some form. Someone else might copy anything I write, or blog about it, or re-post it on some other site, before I can delete it; and search engines such as Google have a cache memory that may remember things I deleted long ago.
So if I want to keep something private, I keep it off the Internet in the first place.
-
Inappropriate?Things change. Some information that in the past was useless now can be important. At least, am I permitted to desire my tweets to be deleted properly?
-
Inappropriate?I've seen deleted tweets show up in Google Cache, so are you going to send them a complaint letter that they stick around for a while? Items in the search disappear after 4 months anyway, so much like Google Cache, it'll eventually go away.
-
Inappropriate? If you don't agree with the question simply go to the next one, you don't need to put useless criticism in the comments. Does your comment matter anything about my twitter question? No. So please, don't be annoying.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?you probably got ignored because there was an older bug
