Inappropriate?Hello. Is your phone number just disappearing when you try to add it to your Devices page at http://twitter.com/devices?
If yes, kindly see this reply in another thread: click here
If you are encountering a different problem, could you kindly elaborate further? -
Inappropriate?Twitter evidently won't activate my phone number when I add it in my Devices page. It displays the message code I should text to 40404, but I have sent the message at least 7-8 times over the last few days and my account still shows that I need to activate my phone number by texting the message code. Any suggestions?

Inappropriate?Hi tommylinsley. Could you kindly provide additional info:
1. Do you get a reply from Twitter when you send ON to 40404?
2. What carrier are you using?
3. When you send "This is a TestPostFromTommy" to 40404, does it show up in this TwitterSearch: http://search.twitter.com/search?q=Te...
4. if the answer to #3 is yes, what account does the test post appear under? -
Inappropriate? Thanks for responding. Answering your questions below:
1. I have never gotten any kind of reply from Twitter when sending the message code to 40404. Nothing at all happens.
2. My carrier is Sprint.
3. I have never sent a test post to Twitter because there has never been any response when I text the "verification code" to 40404.
Thanks for the help. -
Inappropriate?Hi tommylinsley. Since you've never gotten a reply from Twitter, it seems likely that your mobile account has shortcodes such as 40404 blocked.
This seems to be particularly true for Sprint customers.
You can contact Sprint and request that shortcodes be unblocked. You can find more info on how to this in this related thread: click here to see

Inappropriate?@mdy: thanks for the help. I've never used short codes before. Honestly, I didn't know what they were. I always assumed those short numbers were the same as texting to anyone else.
I seem to be one of the few lucky ones; Sprint fixed the problem very quickly. Immediately, actually. -
Yay, I'm glad! -
Inappropriate?I'm having serious twitter issues that just began. I'm brand new to twitter & already hating it! The ONLY reason I use it is because my friends use twitter. That's the ONLY reason I use it. My problem began yesterday. I had devices on & was able to send tweet updates by mobile for a while now. Then last night I realized none of my tweets showed up on twitter. I deleted the device & tried to re-add it. Never got verification. Tried again...nothing. I put in a fake phone number so I could use my pn on the new account, then deleted the old account. I'm now
@Jen_4_Jesus (twitter). I use Verizon. I was an Alltel customer until Verizon recently bought them out. I changed my phone number even. I am STILL not getting a verification text. I've tried several twitter links & nothing works. It is unable to find my mobile device & I still tried to send a tweet by cell & nothing showed. I tried ON & send it by 40404 (US) & nothing. So I'm
Je_4_Jesus, use Verizon, am using 40404. Any suggestions? I'm almost wondering if it's worth it at this point.

Inappropriate? This is Jen_4_Jesus (biblebrat78). It's up & running after 3 days. I didn't do anything unusual. Just kept trying & retrying & it suddenly worked after I sent for another text verification. It has to do with the attack from Russia. Thanks twitter! You made my Sunday morning beyond great!
I’m ecstatic
