Why no access to tweets older than 2 months?
I need to check out tweets I made in february and march 2008, but can't go back further in my archive than about 2 months.
Why can't I see my archived tweets for longer back than 2 months?
This is bad, because :
- I relied upon the service to be able to access these notes of mine, but now it seems they're lost
- Permanlinks made to these tweets won't work any more ? Or do they?
- On another note, using Twitter for research suffers too, if total material on twitter which can be searched only goes back two months (Twitter much less useful for market analysis).
This worries me, and I fear I will rely less on Twitter, unless someone can reassure me our old tweets are safe and I don't need a backup plan.

Inappropriate?I've noticed this as well; once my Tweets reach a certain age, they're removed from the system.
I figured it was because Twitter considered old tweets obsolete after awhile, and deleted them to save space.
I’m curious

Inappropriate? How much space does 140 chr messages take up in this age of the Petabyte? Not much, and I doubt this is policy.
My bet is they use it as one of their ways to manage load on their system, albeit not a very good method and not a very userfriendly method. Devaluating your product is not the best way to go about fixing problems.
One things is problems, the radio silence on these issues is much more offensive and creatés nothing but distrust and a poisonous atmosphere around here. It's really bad karma, and a company such as Twitter should be able to put someone to work answering these queries.
I’m anxious, frustrated, all of the above

Inappropriate?Wow, I was just starting to be ok with the 10 page limit of "Older" tweets -- but that was for seeing my friends' tweets. I am REALLY not ok with only being able to go back 10 pages into my OWN tweets.
Need to give the TOS a scan and find out if there's any language to support making it always available -- it is my content.
I’m a sad panda.

Yes it do seems to be an issue with a hardcoded 10 pages archive limit, for everyone.
What's worse, it seems what used to be Summize but now http://search.twitter.com doesn't go longer back either. This is bad, as there seems to be no way to access the permalinks by any method.
Found lost favourites to re-appear if I added enough favourites to get up to a number of favourites dividable by 20, then the "previous" link would reappear and allow me to see starred tweets from longer back.
Have not tested if this would work on the 10 page archives limit, but doubt it's the same issue. -
Inappropriate?Hmm, now I'm happy I have a tumblr log set up to re-blog my tweets. It comes with permalinks to old postes.
