Why won't twitter connect my mobile phone device?
I can't seem to connect my mobile phone to twitter. It verified me once but when I texted an update to my twitter, it never showed up. My account tells me now that my I still haven't connect a device, but I have tried 3 times now. Help!

Inappropriate?Hi there. Which country are you in and which mobile phone company are you using? I'm asking because:
1. Some phone companies do not support Twitter's short code
2. Canadian users have been experiencing sms problems
If you're neither of the above, could you kindly check:
1. Is your mobile phone verified?
Go to http://twitter.com/devices (login required) to see. If your phone device has not yet been created, please add it and verify it.
2. Is your mobile phone notification preference set to ON?
Still on the http://twitter.com/devices page, set your notifications to ON.
3. Do you have notifications on the the sidebar on your home page (http://twitter.com/home) set to mobile and not 'web only'?
That has to be set to mobile for you to receive notifications.
4. What happens when you send ON to Twitter?
If your mobile phone is set up properly, you should receive a reply from Twitter when you send ON. -
Inappropriate?Turns out my problem isn't country based or Twitter based. Apparently my cell company never turned of a block on text messages when I started paying for them again. I had them remove that and it works great now.
I’m satisfied

Inappropriate?My phone company (Sprint) accepts short code (I receive replies when I text 'help' or 'on' to 40404);
my devices page tells me my phone is still not verified;
I know I don't have text messaging blocked b/c my hubby and I text each other all the time.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Did Twitter by any chance ask you for your name when you sent the verification code from your phone?
If yes, then it means your phone was not successfully linked to your Twitter account during verification. Twitter thinks you're a new user (since it doesn't recognize the phone number) and creates a new account for you after getting your name.
If this is indeed the case for you, then this related thread might help.

Inappropriate?to mdy --> I'm replying so I can add a happy emote. Yes, that sure did work, hooray! It's amazing what one tiny little digit will do...
