It would be great to have a version of Twitterfeed that can post to Identi.ca, too: more of a microbloggingfeed than just Twitterfeed.
I love being able to have a link to my blog posts cross-posted to Twitter, but I still need to enter them manually on Identi.ca. Eventually, when the microblogging services start to adhere to the open standards, we could all be using different platforms, and need to have tools like Twitterfeed that can update more than one platform.
It would be nice if we could give a name to the Twitter feeds we create. It is difficult to remember which is which after a while, particular if, as in my case, the URLs look all the same (strange Yahoo Pipes hashes).
I see there is a way to filter the twitterfeed so it only submits posts that contain certain words to twitter, but what about a filter so that it doesn't submit posts with certain words to twitter?
For example, I have several blogs, some of which cross-post to other blogs and I'd like to have twitterfeed filter out certain posts so that all my blogs can feed together without repeating each other.
I like the idea of the 'exclude' filter, but it would also be great to have a 'negative exclude' filter. In other words, instead of only showing posts with the filter word, it would be great to exclude posts with a filter word, perhaps preceded by a "-", as in Google searching.
For example, if my filter was "-flickr" (without quotes), then items with the word "flickr" would not be passed through to Twitter.
Add the ability to use is.gd as a tiny url service. It's the shortest of all and can help with long rss titles. Also good would be the ability to select whichever service would make the URL the longest without going over the 140 character limit.
Why didn't you implement a url to call for ping one feed ?
I'm thinking something like feedburner (http://www.feedburner.com/fb/a/pingSu...<blog-url>) so you can stop polling feeds to get update but you'll be pinged when there are updates.
Polling feeds works very well most of the time, but there's probably a lot of bandwidth being wasted. Why not combine polling with a ping service where twitterfeed is notified of updates?
And how about a "force refesh" or "manual ping" button? That could be useful too.
