Apologies for lack of responses/support from now until Monday - I am at the Latitude festival from now until Sunday night, enjoying some great music, and will start to respond to issues again on Monday.

Twitterfeed not updating my account.

Some people have reported that twitterfeed has been hacked, as it's been posting content from pownce that wasn't theirs. I've taken a look, and this is not the case - the problem is actually with pownce itself - if I look at the messages sent by myself, it includes the below (screenshot):

.. so it seems something's gone awry at pownce to make these messages appear as being sent by lots of people. All twitterfeed does is send these messages onto twitter, since they appear in everyone's pownce rss feed.

UPDATE: I've reported this issue at pownce, and they say it's been fixed now, so just sounds like it was a hiccup at their end: http://getsatisfaction.com/pownce/top...

This is potentially useful if you have a feed that contains GUIDs, but no pubDates, or feeds like certain Yahoo! Pipes which can contain erratic pubDates. By choosing the GUIDs option, the pubDates are ignored. As mentioned in the blog post, this functionality is experimental, and hasn't been tested very thoroughly, so use at your own risk..

Thanks to the guys at Yahoo!, del.icio.us feeds should now work again. Apparently twitterfeed.com request were throttled, but our IP addresses have now been whitelisted, so del.icio.us feeds should validate and succesfully post to twitter.

PS: no word from pownce yet, who also seem to throttle/block twitterfeed requests.

I'll be travelling for the next 3 days, so won't be able to respond to support queries during that time. In the meantime, please search the archives of this site, there's a lot of useful information that has accumulated here...

There's been reports that pownce and del.icio.us feeds don't work in twitterfeed. Looking at this a bit closer, it seems that these sites block access from the twitterfeed.com domain. I will contact both of them in the hope that they will lift this block.

Please - if you're going to report a problem, include some relevant details like the feed URL and/or the twitter account name you're posting to. Without either of these, there is very little I can do to help.

Just a heads-up that replies from me may be late (or non-existent) next week, while I'll be on vacation in Switzerland for some skiing. I'll be paying attention to all issues once I'm back on the 26th Feb.

Hope no-one minds too much... as a free service, I'm sure you'll understand I can't provide 24/7 support service :-)
