"We couldn't parse this feed" for valid url / feed
Getting "We couldn't parse this feed, please check the URL is valid" for http://www.southend.gov.uk/news/feed.asp which Feedvalidator validates, has pubDate and GUIDs, and loads via browser.

You need to enter the feed URL, not the blog URL itself - in your case http://jessicasimpsonlovers.blogspot.... should work. -
Inappropriate?I need help with this too and I have been trying to get this to work for more than an hour

Inappropriate?error message we couldn't parse this feed" for valid url / feed not sure what to do

Are you sure you're entering the feed URL, not the URL of the blog? Also see http://twitterfeed.com/help#faq2 -
Inappropriate?I have the same problem with my feed

Try replacing "feed://" with "http://" and see if that works. -
Inappropriate?I have the same problem with each of the 7 feeds I've attempted to set up tonight, all from different reputable sources like Google, the LA Times, etc. All validate just fine at feedvalidator.org. Here are examples:
feed://feeds.latimes.com/latimes/sports/basketball/nba/lakers?format=xml
feed://news.google.com/news?pz=1&ned=us&hl=en&as_scoring=n&as_maxm=10&q=%22Phil+Jackson%22&as_qdr=d&as_drrb=q&as_mind=18&as_minm=9&as_maxd=18&output=rss

Help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

That didn't help. :( -
Inappropriate?I'm having problems with Yahoo Pipes too. FeedValidator.org shows valid feed, albeit with some recommendations.
Here's my feed: http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run...
FeedValidator output:
Congratulations!
[Valid RSS] This is a valid RSS feed.
Recommendations
This feed is valid, but interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendations.
* line 2, column 0: Use of unknown namespace: http://gdata.youtube.com/schemas/2007 [help]
<rss></channel>
^
Update: After second try now this feed parsed OK by Twitterfeed. (?!?!?)
I’m confused
-
If the issue is intermittent, it could be down to Pipes responding slowly.. which seems to happen every now and then, and this leads to timeouts and the "can't parse feed" message -
Inappropriate?I have a recommendation, as many different types of hosting brutally attach garbage data to the end of the feed which injects their own ads, it invalidates many feeds.. For example, everything after </feed> is garbage that cannot be avoided, but it invalidates the feed as well. The solution is to substring the feed chopping off anything after the closing tag for the feed. Thanks!</table></body></html><!-- adsok -->
<feed>
... the feed contents itself ...
</feed></iframe></noscript></layer>
</iframe>
I’m silly

Afternoon people!
Yahoo Pipes problem. I have a couple of feeds through Twitterfeed. The Google Alerts ones are fine. The ones via Yahoo Pipes are not. I have not had a correct feed from the Yahoo Pipes feeds since 5th November.
When I "View The Feed" I see the error message: "we couldn't parse this feed, please check the URL is valid. we'll keep trying". But when I go to "Edit the feed" - it parses okay.
I've checked the "pipe" to see if it is running and feeding okay - which it is. I've checked my bit.ly account settings to see if anything is wrong there - and it is not.
The reason I'm reporting this now is that it doesn't seem to be a case of "Yahoo Pipes running slowly", or it being an intermittent fault. I have other Twitter accounts with other Yahoo Pipe feeds through Twitterfeed and they are running fine.
Any suggestions anyone?
Thanks
Paul
